Soft, amber glows peered around the long, floor length drapes. Birds sung their morning melodies, as owls rested in their treetop homes. A tranquil space between the shadowy night and luminous day.

Suddenly, the door swung open as a bustle of maids and servants tumbled through, trailing a string of loud conversation and props.

"Morning Elena, you should have been up by now," the queen mother strode in, ordering the many staff around.

The young princess groaned, pulling the sheets over her head as she was blinded by the light. In retaliation the blinds were ripped from the maids hands slamming back together, leaving the room in darkness and silence, just as she liked it.

Frigga flicked her wrist opening them once more, "what have we told you about doing that, you could hurt someone," she spoke with a stern tone.

"There fault if they get in the way," the young girl mumbled to herself.

The queen sighed, "come on, time to get bathed and dressed. Then we will get your hair done, it looks like a bird has slept in there."

Not wanting to argue with her grandmother -as she has never won, Elena headed over to her extensive bathroom.

"Elena don't start trying to manipulate the water, the last thing we need today is a flood," "yes grandmother."

Soon enough the princess was washed, dressed and looking like true Asgardian royalty. Her hair fixed to perfection with detailed plaits swirled round to the precise place, as the rest of her long brown locks waved freely down her back. The deep blue dress just reached the floor, with the golden and silver detailing reflecting the light like a mirror. Her personally made tiara rested comfortably on her small head, each large gemstone a representation of her unique goddess abilities.

"Now do you remember everything that is happening," the queen asked the girl, nodding at the maids allowing them to leave.

"Yes, walk in after Uncle Loki when they say my name and stand on the step below. Smile pretend to be interested and follow Uncle Loki out to the main hall and don't talk to anyone I don't know," the girl concluded, already wanting the day to be over. Although her anxiety would be through the roof at these ceremonies/engagements which she found very stressful, Elena secretly enjoyed being pampered and dressed up for once.

"Good, now I have to go and check on your uncles. I might not see you before it starts so if I don't remember to just breathe and smile, Loki is right next to you if you need a hand to hold and no ones even paying attention to you as they will all be looking at Thor," Frigga cupped her granddaughters face, looking at her as if she were her own daughter.

The princess nodded, hugging her grandmother goodbye before sitting on the edge of the bed, reading her newest book.
