The two gods wandered aimlessly down the hive of tunnels, many of the workers doing a double take at the sight of the once mythical Norse gods. Each turn looked the same, grey floors, grey walls, men and women in uniform and a bunch of fancy equipment behind secured doors.
"Thorrr can we stop my feet hurt, we've been walking for ages.... "
"Elena it's been 5 minutes, I told Fury I'd meet him with the other mortals after we finished up with our dear friend Coulson, " Thor sighed, not prepared for the string of complaints that were sure to follow.
"Besides if you had just stayed at home in bed where you were safe, you wouldn't have to be walking round here, now would you. " Thor spoke with an accusatory tone.
Elena stopped walking as her uncle turned round to look down at her, "I didn't mean too. I-I just heard you talking about uncle Loki and thought I could help you get him back so you could be happy again... "
She looked down at her feet as she spoke, fiddling with the ends of her brunette hair that hung over her face. Feeling her uncle kneel in front of her she looked up, he placed the lose strand behind her ear.
"I'm not mad at you El, " Thor started softly, "but you understand there is a good reason why I wanted you to stay at home. I just want to keep you safe, that's all. "
"I know, " she sniffed as she spoke.
Hesitantly, she looked up to her uncle, "do you think I can go see uncle Loki? "
Thor bit the inside of his mouth as he looked off in another direction, unable to meet her worried look.
"I don't think so... "
"Why not! What's wrong with him, " she asked, desperate just to go back home with both her father figures and live life just as they would have a year ago.
"It's complicated... " Thor begun, unable to explain that her uncle was on a murder spree, prepared to kill and destroy this planet to make it his, and not that he was going to come home and tuck her into bed as he once did.
"Don't worry about him. I just spoke to Loki, he seems to be doing just fine, " a red head spoke up behind them.
Thor stood up quickly giving her a knowing look, to which the assassin gravely nodded, Elena watching on. Natasha took the previous god's position in front of the girl, "you look tired there little miss, " she warmly smiled towards the girl.
"Yes, because I've been walking down the same corridors for hours, because uncle Thor is lost, " Elena replied.
The widow chuckled to herself, "come on kid, I'll take you there. "
Natasha held a hand out as she stood, cautiously Elena took it. She along with Thor followed the agent down the halls. Easily keeping up with Nat's shorter steps Elena could finally admire the woman walking next to her. She seemed so scary, yet her soft grip on the youngsters hand was as reassuring as a mothers.
