Crushed?

If someone were to tell me that having your crush break your heart right in front of you would hurt this much, I probably wouldn't have bothered. My stomach churns and turns at the sight in front of me; all I do is stand there. I stand there staring at someone who I started to catch feelings for in a short time, despite my better judgment, I know I shouldn't just watch them but I can't help it. It's like my body went completely numb to everything and everyone around me except for the two in front of me. I turn and run out of that wretched place with Ali behind me yelling my name but I don't stop running. I run all the way home, not stopping to talk to anyone as I head to my room and slam my door shut.

I hear multiple knocks from the outside of my bedroom knowing full well they're either from my mom because no one else knew where we live. The knocks vary from every 30 minutes to every hour til they completely stop. I lie in my bed for what seems like forever thinking about all the whys and hows of the situation but can't come up with any logical explanation as to why he would do this after he told me he liked me.

Maybe he lied. but why? Did he think I was easy? I am a shy girl and don't have much experience with guys but I do have my dignity and that alone should be enough. I guess it isn't enough for most guys because all they think about is getting into the pants of the girl they deem to be "hot" or "attractive". I was probably just part of a bet or some challenge he was given to try and get with me. I sit up super fast, grab my phone and call Ali

*ring ring ring...*

Ali: "SARAH WHERE ARE YOU? WE WERE ALL WORRIED ABOUT YOU!!"

Me: "Ali please calm down, I'm at my house, I needed to cool off."

Ali: "You had me so worried Sarah, please don't do that again"

Me: "Okay I won't, I need some girl time, do you wanna come over?"

Ali: "Yeah girl! Of course!"

Me: "Alright I'll send you the address"

Ali: "Kk I'll see you in a bit"

*hangs up*

I look in the mirror as I wait for her to arrive and smile to myself as I think "This is gonna be a good night"
