"H-How could this be..."
The paper I was holding slipped out of my hands. My eyes widening and hands trembling as what I read was incredibly inhumane.
I knew my townspeople hated me, maybe because they must've assumed that I was the one who willingly abandoned them and decided to stay imprisoned with a dragon? No, that'd be a miserable joke. Who in their right minds would think of something like that?
I bent and got the paper that slipped from my hand. I reread it, a part of me wishing I read it wrong. It wrote:
"By the eve of your 18th birthday, you shall receive your deserved punishment."
“…Lucy, Lucy!” In a snap, I awoke from a daze as I saw Natsu’s face, an inch away from mine.
“Ah..” I weakly and unusually responded. I looked down, unabashed of the closeness.
“What’s up with that reaction?” He had his eyebrow up. “You’ve had a weird expression on ever since you’ve read it.” His eyebrows crinkled, a tad irritated. “Let me see—“
“No!!!” I swiftly got it away from his hands. Natsu’s eyes widened, astonished of my sudden comeback.
I must never tell anyone, it’ll be troublesome. Even if I do admit that I do not have any confidence that I’m going to be well even after the said curse, or what’s going to be of me after the due date or why was it kept in the drawer without me knowing. Thousands of questions rushing in my head, but I had to keep everything in. I shouldn’t involve any innocent people. It’ll cause a huge burden, for them and me. That’s why…
“Uhm… It’s really nothing important.” I gave my best and the most reassuring smile I could at the dreadful moment as I slowly slid the folded paper in one of my pockets. “Sh-Shouldn’t you be going now? Anyways I’m a.ok and you don’t have to worry about me running away in your absolutely fabulous castle or anything so yeah…” I pushed him towards the door as I spoke fast, trying to not let him say anything else.
“Lucy…” His head turned sideways, eyes on me as he said my name in quite a worry.
“Oh yeah also, don’t ever come in my room ever again even if you hear me say your name... out... loud!” I huffed and squeezed my eyes shut as I focused on the effort in pushing him out of my door. It was like moving a statue weighing a thousand pounds.
"Uhh... Lucy?"
“Ugh” I finally let out a sigh of defeat. Thinking that I already moved him far away from our earlier position, I open my eyes in great dismay. Not even an inch of accomplishment!
“Pfffftt. Lucy were you seriously pushing me just then?” He had this really aggravating and mocking face on. Staggered and jaw dropped, I looked at him in outrage.
“No I wasn’t!! Get out!!! Ouuuuttt!!!!”
I slammed the door shut after I grabbed his hand and dragged him outside. Sigh, I really need some peace of mind.
I walked around the room and got my bath towel as I continued my way in the shower. Whilst stripping and turning the shower on, I got the shampoo and placed a small amount on my hand and rubbed it on my hair.
Why was the curse sent to me? Who sent it? I somewhat knew that I’d get unlucky with these kind of things but this got out of hand. It hadn’t crossed my mind that someday I’d be given a curse of all things. The paper was real, therefore a witch must have made it. It had tiny little thorns all over it, so it must be a special kind of dark magic. A fallen witch? No, there isn’t any of them in this kind of decade. And even if there is, it would be rare to get to bump into one. What am I going to do?
Crash
…What was that? Breaking glass…? Outside the shower?
tip tap tip tap
It’s getting louder…footsteps? . . . A person?!
I frantically grabbed my towel and covered myself as I got the soap and decided it would be my deadly weapon of threat.
“Natsu??”
“AAAAHHHHHHHHH” I threw the soap at the person who opened the shower drape.
I opened my eyes, focusing on the floor, to see who was the maniac who barged in the bathroom.
A… c-cat!?

A.N: Hey guys! Sorry, this chapter was kinda a fail -_-" My mind has been losing it lately. You don't know how much annoying a writer's block is especially when the ideas of a story comes rushing through your mind WHEN you are already trying to have a peaceful goodnight's rest! Seriously! But then again, that wasn't related to the story.......... So check out my *new* story!

The plot's what you can call a tad bit cliché but I swear, I'd been thinking of a perfect twist for it day and night for the past few weeks and crossed fingers that I'm going to update regularly! :D
