Chapter 7: Meeting a new friend

"The first story was funnier."

        Natsu said as he and I we're comfortably sitting down and eating ramen on the semi-sofa. What could go better with eating while listening to really, really long life-stories? 

     "Wanna have some?" Natsu and I we're more focused on our ramen getting cold if we'd even pause for a second than Happy's quick rambling. No offense.

   "We're you even listening?" Happy's smile curved into an evil and treacherous way. His nerve on his head already showing.

   "Yeah... yeah!" Natsu paused, gulping down the noodles. "Lisanna saved your butt and then you got all the grocery for free..." Natsu trailed off, the revelation of something hitting him like a rock. "That means the money is still with you...." He glared at him. "Give it back."

   "Whaaaaaaat?" Happy's jaw dropped. "But didn't you even hear how I was describing the huge mouth watering fishy? Have you no mercy!?" Happy's eyes filled with tears I presume were forced.

Natsu just hand gestured a move to give it to him, looking at the poor cat mercilessly.

   "You know we're already short. I've yet to find a job. The dragon-kidnapping-a-rich-damsel thing's not cutting out right."

Happy placed his head down and slowly handed him the money.

    "But wait!" He rapidly held the money tight back across his chest showing obvious signs of desparation to take it for himself.

   "Aren't you even a tiny bit curious of what's inside the envelope?" Happy's eyebrows narrowed. "Lisanna was blushing while she gave it to me. She was Blushing." his eyebrows went up and down when he slowly said the word. It was kinda annoying, how he did it.

   "Right." Natsu said, tensed. Maybe he didn't know how to respond. "I'll open it."

 After a bit of examining the words in the letter while his eyes unbelievably went up and down more than thrice (I'm sure of it), he gave Happy a confused expression.

   "It says that we're invited to her birthday, which is 3 days from now. Says it's gonna be big. She's going to plan a ball too..." he gave a confident slash smug smirk.

   "Which means..." He shot us a look with seriousness over-pouring different sensations. I froze, but Happy and I went in closer.

    "THERE'S GONNA BE A BUFFET!!!! HAPPY! READY OUR BIG BAGS!!! THIS'LL LAST FOR A WEEK!!" Natsu danced in joy and grabbed Happy then after that, they both now presently danced in joy like a street performer and a monkey. They both grinned goofily and their aura was so light, in their portion of the room, at the least.

I staggered.

   "What!? I thought you were gonna say that we'll have to dress up fancily." I placed my hand over my forehead. This guy really knows how to take things into a level of suspense you'd never imagine.

   "Oh." He paused for awhile, but then still continued to dance. "Yeah, that too." 

    "HUH?!" I exclaimed. "I should ready our attires! What should we wear!?" I panicked. Balls we're to be splendid. A princess should act splendid, at least that's what I've been home tutored of. Splendid parties was also one of my family's main specialties. Then maybe, just maybe, I'd see them and get a chance to escape. I unconsciously made a victory pose.

   "Lucy... what are you doing?" Both of them looked at me like I was some kind of weirdo from outer space. But, really? I should be the one looking at them like that!
