It was astonishing. Gigantic trees rose from the side, crooked and laying overhead like a
canopy. The stream was sprinkled with rocks and tree branches. It went downstream, which led to even more trees in the distance. It was a beautiful scenery. It was so amazing that I almost forgot why I was here in the first place. I had a mission to complete. I had to get....
Sorry, wrong spot. I should probably start at the beginning of the story. But to do that, I need to rewind to...
Well, only a few hours before this. Sorry, I just wanted this to sound dramatic, similar to our mission. But do not let stereotypes fill your mind. This isn't your typical story. Sure, there's an actual dangerous mission. There are quests involved in it, a conflict, a climax, a resolution, interesting characters, all of that good stuff. It's action-packed, adventurous, it's many things that you would expect of a story like this one. But all of that stuff is vague. It's not to the point. Sure, there's a protagonist, an antagonist, a sensible story (minus what you may think are fantasy elements, but trust me, they're not fantasy elements, people! This is real stuff!) But it's not like every adventure story you've read. In fact, it's probably not even like one adventure story you've read. It's not like this is a forever mission that lasts a year or more. All of this happened within the course of one day. Seems like it isn't much of a big deal now, but it is.
But enough of all that. You want to know what happens, don't you?
Alright then.
But I have only one request before you continue reading.
Please, don't think of any other stories you've read while reading mine. I don't like the influence of other books lingering while you read mine.
Are you ready?
Do you think you can handle it?
Good.
Let's get on with it, then.
