The sun had set completely when we returned to Mr. Ominous and his tent with some wood.
"What took you so long?" Mr. Ominous asked.
"It's.... not.... so.... easy to....... find wood in a..... another dim...... dimension," I said, grunting in between from the heavy weight of the wood.
I dropped all the wood. I was exhausted. The wood had sapped all of my strength.
"That's okay," Mr. Ominous said. "I'll make the fire."
"Yeah, sure, whatever," I said.
I sat down, watching the fire. Mr. Ominous made the noodles and gave them to each of us.
"Thanks," I said, gorging the noodles down as if I was eating from a buffet. I didn't even bother using my spoon. I hadn't eaten since breakfast and I was starving.
I finished them quickly.
"Seconds?" Mr. Ominous asked.
We both held out our bowls and more noodles came pouring in.
I quickly finished those as well.
"Thirds?" He said.
We held out our bowls again.
Noodles came pouring in.
"I have some business to attend to," Mr. Ominous said afterward. "I'll leave the pot here in case you want more. Enjoy!" He walked into his tent.
"Man, he has infinite noodles," I told my sister.
"Yeah, no kidding," she replied.
"Come to think of it, how does he have such hospitality?" I asked.
"I know, right? He has so many noodles, a bunch of pots and bowls, he knows how to make a fire, and his tent is huge! It's like a hut! It has three sleeping bags and a kitchen! Whether he's evil or not, he sure has amazing hospitality!"
"He probably just wants to warm up to us," I warned.
"Well, duh, we're still not gonna trust him, but he is really good at this stuff!"
"Definitely!"
"Anyway, what are we gonna do tomorrow?"
"He says he knows where the place is, so we'll follow him. Simple."
"Yeah, alright."
"Except one thing. What's that business he has to attend to?"
"Eh, he's probably up to no good. But we knew that was most likely gonna happen anyway, so no harm."
"True."
We continued to eat our noodles. The pot of noodles was still half full.
We finished all of it eventually. After we finished it all, we were no longer hungry. In fact, we couldn't eat another bite. It had been an exhausting day.
So with that, we dozed off.
