A New World

I felt a light tap on my shoulder while I had been deep in my thoughts. This startled me to a huge extent and I jumped.
It was my sister. "Whoa! What have you been thinking about?" she said. "I just wanted to say something!"
"Oh, uh, you woke up," I said awkwardly.
I explained what had happened while she had been asleep and what I had been thinking about.
Now that we were both on the same page, we tried to think about where we were and how we had gotten here.
"We were pushed into the ground, right?" my sister said.
"Yeah," I said.
"And the sword is magic?"
"Right on."
"And we're in another world now?
"Uh-huh."
"That can only mean one thing."
"The sword transported us to another dimension!" we said simultaneously.
"But why this place specifically? Is there something special here?" I asked.
"I don't know, but that's not important. Right now we have to find a way to make the sword powerful again," my sister said.
"Perhaps there's a place where we can fix it here. Maybe that's why the sword brought us here, if that's true," I suggested.
"Well, then, let's get a move on."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. What about Earth? We didn't completely destroy the meteor, and for all we know, it hit by now and the world has been destroyed, or at least the town, which is still really bad."
"Well, let me check." My sister turned on her phone and went on the Internet.
"Wait a minute, you get service here?" I asked.
"Yeah, I guess. Oh, hold up a minute."
She opened her texting app.
She sent this text to her friends:
OMG ME AND MY BRO ARE IN ANTHER DMNSION THIS IS SO TERRIBLE SORD IS DESTRYED MUST FIX IT THIS IS THE SCRIEST DAY OF MY LIFE XD
"Seriously? That's your biggest priority right now?" I asked.
"Well, yeah, I mean, my friends need to know about this."
"What's the point? They could be dead! I mean, you could have checked the news first!"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm getting to it." She returned to the Internet and checked the top stories for Downingtown.
This was the top story:
Today we have learned devastating news about a meteor that was going to hit our very town. It was seconds away from hitting when two brave children stabbed it with some sword. It pushed them underground. The impact from the sword, however, seemed to send it flying back up in the air. Upon our predictions, the meteor's landing has been delayed by the sword for about ten hours. We thank these two brave children. Unfortunately, their whereabouts are unknown, and while the town is preparing for the meteor to hit and people are trying to stop it, a rescue team is on the lookout for these two children.
I said, "Whaaaaaaaaaaat? They actually got all that about us? What if Mom and Dad know that it was us?"
"Wait, let me see the pictures." She scrolled down but, thankfully, there were none of us.
"Phew! This is great! We delayed the meteor and Mom and Dad have no idea that we were the ones who tried to stop the meteor!" I said.
"Yeah, but we've only got, like, 10 hours. We better move quick if we want to save the town," my sister said.
"Wait a minute. Take your phone again," I said.
"Why?"
"Last time we were in a weird place, time went by faster in Earth. How about this time?"
She took her phone again. "It's only been two minutes in Earth since we left. We've been here longer than that."
"How long?"
"Uh, ten minutes."
"Well, ten divided by two is five, and five times ten is 50. A day is 24 hours, and two days is 48 hours, so we have about two days to get back to Earth and save the world."
"Well, great, that should be tons of time. Now let's go."
"All right," I said.
Then we actually got to take a look at the place we were in.
It was astonishing. Gigantic trees rose from the side, crooked and laying overhead like a
canopy. The stream was sprinkled with rocks and tree branches. It went downstream, which led to even more trees in the distance. It was a beautiful scenery. It was so amazing that I almost forgot what I was going to do in the first place. Luckily, I remembered that I had a mission to complete. We had to...

Okay, so now you're all caught up with the story. You know what's going on and everything. That's great!
I assume you like the story this far, because if you didn't, you would have stopped reading by now.
But you don't want to know about me. You want to read the story.

We had to fix the sword and get back to the surface.
So we started to walk.
"Geez, I'm starting to work up a sweat," I said.
"Yeah, it's really hot here. It feels like a desert," my sister said, her speech beginning to get slurred.
That was when I fainted, right on top of a steep hill.
