True Heroism

We ran out the cave as fast as lightning. We couldn't let Mr. Ominous catch up with us and lay his hands on the sword. He was a force to be reckoned with.
I couldn't believe he was strong enough to destroy the sword. If the sword got in his hands again, he would destroy it again, and he would possibly injure us very badly.
We had been lucky to fix the sword again, thanks to Mr. Ominous only attacking me.
But I had a feeling that Mr. Ominous would anticipate the diversion this time, so if he caught us again, we might as well be done for and so would the world.
I tried to fight the temptation to look back, yet I did so anyway.
It was a bad idea. A rock came flying and hit me squarely in the forehead. Mr. Ominous had lobbed it and he was getting much closer to us.
The truth was, I was scared to death of him. I just seemed to have an unusual amount of adrenaline when my life was being put in danger.
If people threatened me, I would just jump into action. I realized that although I was no hero from the movies, in a way, everyone had the power to be a hero.
Strength didn't matter when it came to heroism. It had to do with heart, determination, and all of these emotions that fueled you.
You didn't need any superpowers or super strength to be a hero at all.
Any common person could be a hero, as long as they put emotion into it.
Emotions were powerful. They created heroism.
This suddenly lifted my spirits and I decided that if I was going to lose, then I would go out fighting - as a hero.
I grabbed a rock and threw it at Mr. Ominous.
I didn't know if it hit.
I didn't care. It was supposed to be some sort of distraction.
I just kept running, my sister alongside me.
But then I started to wonder how we would get back to Earth.
I was lost in my thoughts now.
Suddenly, I felt a huge force on my back and I fell to the ground.
Mr. Ominous had pounced on me.
He reached for the sword, but I kept it away from him.
During our tussle, the sword began to glow blue.
"Look!" My sister shouted.
The sword blasted a blue beam and it became a portal.
I was taken by surprise.
"It must be a portal back to Earth!" I exclaimed.
Unfortunately, this had distracted me.
Mr. Ominous had grabbed the sword and started running for the portal.
"Oh, no, you don't!" My sister yelled. She ran right behind Mr. Ominous, who jumped through the portal.
My sister did the same less then a second after.
This sudden turn of events in a few seconds had me still for a bit. However, I got up off the floor and prepared to finish this off. I ran toward the portal, and I jumped into it.
