Deku walked quietly through UA's halls. Dinner had ended a few minutes ago, and Iida had suggested he talk his costume to the support course room and see if anyone would help him reinforce his shoes and gloves.
He wasn't sure anyone would be in this hall, but was surprised to find one room with the lights on. He glanced through the small window on the door curiously.
He gasped upon the sight of roughly thirteen people working on what looked like a robot. They were all using their quirks to work efficiently, and appeared very focused. "They all have incredible quirks! It's a wonder they got stuck in the support course," the greenet started muttering. He exhaled before knocking on the door.
Sounds of scrambling came from behind it, and he glanced through the window to see them all hiding whatever they'd been working on.
He pushed the door open. "Hello? I hate to be a bother, but I was wondering if you could help me with something on my costume?"
The nearest person had messy blond hair and was wearing a red t-shirt with a truck on it with jeans. "Well, that depends on what you need done to your suit." The male pushed his safety glasses up, messing up his hair more.
"Max, be nice!" Another male with short dark hair called from were he was sitting behind a computer. He was wearing a light gray hoodie. His jeans were far more clean than the other boy's, or Max's. "Sorry about him, he's a little salty some times. What do you need?"
Deku swallowed. "I was wondering if we could reinforce the gloves and shoes from costume so they don't rip open all the time. Oh, I'm Izuku Midoriya by the way. Most people call me Deku."
"I'm Bryce Kūn," the second boy said with a warm smile. "And follow me, Lillia and Blaze can help there."
"Who was the other boy?" Deku asked, following Bryce through the chaos of their shop.
"That's Max Randorigan. He's been a little upset since we're all a little behind schedule with our stuff. Don't mind him, he's usually a lot more chill," Bryce waved his hand as he spoke, avoiding various tables.
"What about the two were going to meet?" Deku asked, still wondering who all these people were.
"Lillia Beirī and Blaze Gyanburu? Blaze does whatever around here, and Lillia helps with machinery. The two are practically inseparable. Oh, also Blaze uses they/them pronouns. Our group doesn't do much for costumes, but if anyone knows what to do in that department, it's Blaze. Lillia helps around with that too," Bryce grinned over his should at the hero course student. "We're primarily tech stuff, so we do a lot of like quirk help and stealth items. But Blaze got dragged into helping with costumes one day."
"Oh... I, uh, didn't realize different support groups did different things. Guess they don't really teach us that stuff," Deku shrugged sadly. "It's all very interesting though!"
Bryce stopped and pulled back a curtain. "Hey, he needs help with his costume."
Four people were sitting in this small corner, playing Mario Kart. One had short pink hair, another had a mousy brown mullet. The one in the lead had blond hair and was wearing cowboy hat with horns on it. The final person had the longest hair, which was a dark hair with sections near the front bleached.
"Ha! Blue shell!" The pink-haired one crowed. "You're an ath-hole," the blond grumbled, falling into third.
"GUYS!" Bryce said louder. They all stopped, pausing the game.
"What's up Brycie?" The blond grinned. Along with his cowboy hat, he had a black hoodie with a cow on the front and the sleeves rolled up. One knee of his jeans were torn like he'd fallen, and he had a pair of boots on. He rested his head on his hands, arms on the chair back. One leg was crossing the others knee.
"Awh, I was so close to winning!" The long-haired one groaned. She had a green floral shirt on top of a black crop top, and a pair of ripped black jeans. Black platform high tops covered her feet. A collection of necklaces and bracelets added to the outfit. She sat relatively straight, chair backwards.
"Loser~," the one with a mullet teased. The pinkette punched him. "Shut up, Hayhay!"
The one with a mullet had a blue t-shirt with the sleeves cut off, black cloth shorts, tall socks, and a pair of tennis shoes on. A pair of Pit Vipers hid his eyes as he recoiled away from the angry one. He rubbed one arm, both legs pulled together to get away.
The last one had a pink varsity jacket with the words "blood for the blood god" printed in gold across the back. Something else was written on the sleeve. A pair of platform boots covered one of their feet, the the other foot pulled up in their lap. Jeans with large holes showcasing the fishnet underneath covered their legs, and a variety of chains and necklaces, along with a choker engulfed their neck. Brown fingerless gloves covered their hands.
Bryce sighed. "As I said, he needs help with his costume. Blaze, Lillia, I trust you can do that?" The pinkette nodded. "Can we ppplllleeeaaasssee finish this round though? Lill was so close to winning! After five tries but whatever."
Bryce glanced at Deku, who shrugged. "I haven't really got anywhere to be." The four cheered, the blond pulling a chair from somewhere for him to sit.
"If you didn't gather it, I'm David," the blond said. "Hayden, or Hayhay has the mullet, that's Lillia, and Blaze is over there." He pointed to each person as he spoke.
"I'm Izuku Midoriya, but you can call me Deku!" The greenet responded with an almost blinding smile.
"Don't do anything bad," Bryce warned before walking away, leaving the curtain open.
It wasn't long before the group finished their round (Lillia didn't win, David passed her at the last second). With that, Lillia and Blaze stood. "Follow us," Lillia motioned. Blaze stretched, pulled on their boot, then quickly ran to catch up.
The duo lead Deku to another section, where a machine that looked somewhat like a 3D printer sat. "Can I see your costume?" Lillia asked. "Blaze is gonna need some measurements."
He handed over the costume, allowing Blaze to measure his hands and feet to make sure everything fit well.
As the two started doing stuff, Izuku took the time to look around the shop. Max was back in a booth with another female, Bryce was by the computers, two new people had joined David and Hayden, and one more person entered the room to go to the toolbox against the wall.
As Deku watched, a navy blue blur rushed by. A male appeared over by Bryce as the blur dispersed. "So... what are your guys' quirks?" He asked, notebook practically appearing in his hands.
The pair stood up, looking between him and the notebook. "Tell you what. Here, is the address to our dorm. Your costume should be finished by tomorrow night. You can come pick it up then, and we'll tell you about our quirks," Blaze proposed, pushing a piece of paper into his hand. "Deal?"
Deku nodded, following Lillia to the door. As soon as he exited, he heard them all start moving thing around. He glanced through the window to see them all working on a robot again.
"I wonder what's going on there? Is it a secret project no one's supposed to know about? Are they doing something against the rules?" Deku muttered to himself as headed back to his dorm. It was pretty late now, and his friends had wanted to watch a movie since it was a Thursday and Friday's were mainly training days.
The closer he got to his dorm, the more his curiosity shifted.
