Chapter Sixty Four: Sacrifice

This sucks.

It's been fucking hours and they still can't make a decision.

Or at least I think it's been hours? Time gets really fucking confusing when you're in a void.

I had woken up to darkness surrounding me, thinking I had flown back into the void accidentally. I quickly realized I was here on purpose when I saw a ton of other people floating with me. People, which I should use the word lightly, that were surrounded in glowing light, and were ten times larger than me.

"But what if the egg hatches in the overworld, and Jean pops out?' the one with the black light and soft voice questions. So far, they were my favorite. They had beautiful, silky, black hair and a giant hat that sat perfectly on their head.

"Good point," DreamXD answers. He was the only one I knew the name of.

"But I thought they just killed Jean?" The lava covered one speaks with a gravelly tone.

"I'm a little lost, who's Jean?" I ask, getting impatient enough to finally speak.

All of the beings turn to look at me, staring in shock at my confidence to talk. Only the dark harried one smiles warmly in my direction.

"Ugh, the humans won't stop whining about you," DreamXD complains. "I almost forgot you were here".

I hold my tongue, knowing I probably shouldn't shoot back a sarcastic remark.

"Jean is the Goddess of the End. The Dragon you just killed," The black haired one responds with a sweet tone.

"Oh," I respond. "Thanks. Uh, carry on".

The beings go back to ignoring my presence.

"There's no telling whether Jean will come back or not," DreamXD reasons. "Only time will tell".

"So what about the egg?" One with glowing eyes asks.

"I say we leave it in the End. If Jean comes back then she's trapped in the End again," DreamXD offers.

The beings seem to agree and disagree.

"Let's put it to a vote then," DreamXD declares. "All in favor of keeping the egg in the End?"

Half of the beings raise their hands, or limbs, and half sits quietly. The black haired one raises her hand.

"All in favor of discussing another plan of action?"

The latter half raises their limbs.

"It wouldn't be a tie if we weren't missing half of our council!" One of the beings shouts.

"It's DreamXD's fault for casting out anyone he doesn't like!" Another yells.

"SILENCE!" DreamXD Shouts. "You forget I brought you all to where you are, and can just as quickly destroy you".

With that, everyone stays silent.

DreamXD is quiet for a moment, then looks at me.

"Fine. The one who killed Jean will decide".

"Woah," I laugh cautiously. "I legit have no context on what's happening right now!"

"We'll leave it up to a blind decision then. Your options are keeping the egg in the End or discussing another course of action," DreamXD announces.

"Uhhhh," I look around, the beings awaiting my decision. My eyes land on the black haired one, who lifts her head, finally allowing me to see their dark black eyes.

For some reason, I trust them.

"I think you should keep the egg in the End," I respond confidently.
