"I heard about what happened this morning" James told Keith as he took a baguette.

Keith was torn between a cheese toastie and a cheese pizza. "Wow, how bored does everyone have to be to find that gossip-worthy."

"You were gonna beat Lance into a pulp."

"Yeah so? He pissed me off and there weren't any tutors or commanders around," Keith admitted as he picked up his choice of food.

"A student could've gotten you expelled."

"And you guys lose your only source of entertainment and gossip around here? I think not," Keith joked.

"Fair point. We're the audience in you guys' rom-com," James teased.

The short-tempered boy glared at him. "Never say that again."

"Am I wrong?"

"I'll shove that baguette down your throat."

"Noted." James put his hands out defeated. "You guys' rivalry is..."

"Childish?" he finished for him, "credit Lance, I didn't start this "rivalry"."

It was true. From what he remembered, it had always been Lance that pushed this rivalry. It just so happened that Keith was also competitive and believe in 'an eye for an eye'.

This resulted them disrupting plenty of classes, almost ruining a sponsored charity event before it even started, and nearly setting the dormitories up in flames.

Both boys got into a lot of trouble but Lance didn't have it as harsh as Keith's. The Garrison only needed one more reason to expel Keith.

"It reminds me of ours back in the Garrison. Except it wasn't as extreme and we were foetuses, man."

Keith thought back to when they were both 12 starting their training as space cadets. James was Keith's adversary then.

"You are just as brutal as you were as a child," James stated.

"You say that as if you didn't dump a dead rat in my lunch that one time."

The lunch lady showed a face of revolt at the statement. Both boys laughed with her at her reaction and finished paying for their lunch.

"Baby Kogane must've provoked baby me to do that," James justified.

The place they were educated in later converted into the main base of the organisation. Because of this, they were transferred to this site. It was a university that taught every subject related to space. This was one of the many institutions in the Galaxy Garrison network.

"I absolutely hated your guts then, James."

"And look at us now, enemies to friends!"

"I'm reconsidering all my life choices that lead me to that decision."

Both boys did grow out of their immature feud and surprisingly ended up as good friends. However, Keith couldn't see the same outcome with Lance.

James chuckled. "By the way, I'm throwing an end-of-semester party in Antidote. Everyone's invited."
