VICTORY.

Nothing was better than emerging victorious after a Valorant game. Keith revelled in his win for a few more moments, before slipping out of his headphones. He reclined back onto his desk chair, as his laptop screen went from dim to asleep.

The occasional ticking of the wall clock broke the silence of the night. The pale moonlight shone the dull room. And for a moment, everything was okay.

Until it sunk into Keith at how truly alone he was.

His two closest friends, James and Allura, were away for the Summer. The only person he'd ever consider as family, Shiro, was still here. But Keith felt he burdened Shiro enough already.

Keith caught the Mario toy at the corner of his eyes: the same toy Lance gifted to him the day before.

"You don't need to answer me right now. Just... think about it, okay?"

"I will."

And Keith did think about it. A lot.

In fact, Lance's words rung at the back of Keith's mind since.

The bittersweet feeling, that Keith had when he split off from the group after the arcade, never left. The time he had spent with them, surprisingly didn't drain his energy. Instead, he yearned for more of their company. Pidge's, Hunk's, and even Lance's company.

And that's when Keith realised: he didn't have to be alone anymore.

He had a choice on whether to mope around for the long Summer by himself, or to spend it with people who lifted up his spirits.

So he pulled his phone out, and opened Lance's chat.

Keith wasn't usually one to overthink but recently when it came to Lance, he had been questioning everything.

From what their current relationship was, what Lance thought of him, what else did they both have in common, etc. It seemed like ages ago when Keith wanted to land a hard punch on Lance (which he still thought Lance deserved). Was this petty "rivalry" now long gone?

Keith didn't realise this but, he was growing more curious about this Cuban boy. And what better way was there to learn more about him, than to accept his invitation to a trip to a summer Villa?
