"You look pretty good," Shiro complimented Keith from the couch.

Keith ran a hand through his hair and took a good look at himself in the mirror. Shiro had convinced the kid to go to the party, hence he was in their room helping the boy prep up.

They settled on a short-sleeved red button up and a pair of black ripped jeans. Keith topped it up with his usual Dr Marten leather boots and his distinctive fingerless gloves.

Keith wasn't the biggest fan of nightclubs. It included plenty of drunks, stale air and dancing. He hated dancing and can't for the life of him.

He'd been to clubs alone a few times: experienced one-night-stands and had his fair share of failed dates. The boy learned that finding love was definitely not through drinking, plus he regretted going each time.

So he gave up on nightclubs and love.

Tonight he decided it would be different, he was going to enjoy the night with his friends and not bring a guy back to his room. Even though he very much would've preferred to skip the night entirely.

He was dreading at the thought of James forcing him inside a dance circle.

"I'm not sure about this, Shiro."

"The outfit or tonight?" Shiro walked over to Keith and ruffled the kid's hair. He channeled his inner wisdom. "Just remember to drink responsibly, enjoy the night, and don't take your youth for granted."

Keith visibly cringed at his attempt of a pep talk and pushed his hand away. "You're such an old man."

"I'm only 26!" Shiro declared.

"Late-twenties is pretty old, man." James walked in, already dressed up. "Plus explain the white patch."

Shiro touched the white front strands that contrasted with the rest of his black hair. "This is what stress does and it'll come for you guys too," he warned.

"Shiro, we're still in school– we are stressed," Keith countered.

"Tell me about it! I'm the one teaching you headaches," he joked and looked at the clock. "Anyways, don't you boys have a party to be late for?"

"It's already time? Keith, we gotta go!" James headed for the door but did a double take and looked at Keith with a disapproving look.

Keith looked down at himself. "What?"

"Just no." James undid the first two buttons (whilst Keith was resisting the urge to punch him for being way too close for comfort) and adjusted his collar. "You're a whore tonight, not an emo schoolboy!"

Keith's upper chest was now bare. He glared at the brunette boy. "I feel exposed and insulted."

"Shut up, you look hot," James spritzed cologne on the boy's neck. "Now all the gays will flock to you!"

Keith let out a sigh. "I just want to get through tonight." He was already looking forward to going back to the comfort of his bed.

James threw a few chains at Keith. "Put those round your neck and wrists while we get a move on, Kogane!"

Keith grasped the silver jewellery and turned round to Shiro. He felt unsure now. "Shiro I don't—"

"No changing your mind now! Be safe, boys!" Shiro said hurriedly as he pushed Keith out of the room with effort.
