"We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when,
But I know we'll meet again, some sunny day.
Keep smiling through, just like you always do,
'Til the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away."

"....What do you think Earth is like?" a voice asked. A voice that Artemis recognized as her own.

She was sitting next to another individual, one who's face she couldn't recognize due to how blurry her vision was.  In fact, all she could clearly make out in that moment was her outfit, the metal floor she was sitting on, and the view of a window. For some reason, she didn't question why her vision was so poor. She remained focused on what exactly was outside the window in front of her.

From the window,  Artemis was able to bear witness to the majesty of the universe.  Twinkling lights illuminated the night sky, offering view to the many other wonders the vastness had to offer. Trails of light were left behind in the the star's' wake, shining in brilliant hues of gold and red. Planets that gave promise to the complexity and vastness besides what was known varied in colors and height. It truly was something worth losing sleep over.

Artemis continued staring at the sight before her when she finally heard a response. "I'm not exactly sure. But if the books I've read have taught me anything, it's a wondrous place where anything is possible."

She turned to look at the blurry head of the unknown individual. "Well if that's true...what do you plan on doing once we get there?"

Once again, there was a long pause before he finally responded. "I...I don't know. From my understanding, my entire purpose is to help her. So once we arrive on Earth, my purpose will  have already been fulfilled...and she won't need me anymore."  He stopped to look at what appeared to be his hand, before continuing with, "I'm at a loss as to where I even go from there."

Artemis twiddled her thumbs, before saying, "You could still be with her, you know...join her on all the things she wants to do and accomplish. I can tell she cares a lot about you, so she wouldn't mind...But on the off chance of that not being the case...you could find yourself a new purpose! You like reading so maybe you could own a library or a bookshop."

The unknown individual let out chuckle. "That would be nice."

The two basked in silence, plagued by thoughts of uncertainty and the unknown, before the mysterious person spoke up again. "What about you? What would you like to do once you arrive?"

Artemis perked up at the question. Placing her index finger on her cheek, she began to ponder the question ."Hmmm...I think...I want to fall in love!"

Out of no where, the unknown person began to choke and cough, pounding on his chest in between splutters. "Fall in love?! With who?"

Artemis stood up and spun, her baby blue dress flowing along with her. "I'm not sure," she sighed, "but there's so much to choose from. From the daring adventurers who would die the most gruesome deaths for their lovers, to the brooding high school dreamboats who write the most lovely of poems in the moonlight."  She stopped twirling before falling on the floor, arms spread out and a dreamy look overtaking her face. "I don't know who the love of my life is, but I know they're out there, waiting for me."

The silence was deafening as the mysterious person seemed to stare at Artemis for several moments, before finally saying, "You...You've been watching too much TV." He then got up, scooping up the young girl in his arms as she giggled. He once more sat down in his previous spot, placing the girl on his lap in manner that was facing him. "You're too young to be thinking about that."

"But that's the point! I need to be ahead or else  all the good ones will be taken!" Artemis cried, her arms suddenly shooting down to her sides. "I couldn't live with myself if I ended up married to an accountant...OR WORSE." The girl leaned forward and whispered, "A POLITICIAN."

The mysterious person seemed to shake his head, before chuckling, "What are we going to do with you?"

Artemis cheekily smiled at him before turning to gaze outside the window. The silence seemed to have caught up to the duo once more, before the mysterious person spoke up again. "No matter what happens though, no matter what what I choose to do, I'll always be with you, my Atlantis." Once he said that, he made sure to kiss the top of her forehead.

Artemis smiled up at him. "And I'll always be with you too, big brother."

The two finally seemed content in basking in the quiet, certain of the fact that they had provided all words waiting to be exchanged. But something incredible broke the two out of their tranquility.

Across the already perfect canvas of the endless stars and planets, brilliant strokes of shimmering white and gold were being painted, becoming the centerpiece of an already glorious display.

"SHOOTING STARS!" Artemis squealed, pressing her face and hands against the window in delight. "Quick, quick, make a wish!"

Neither said nothing in response as they continued to gaze out at the falling stars, both knowing full well that their wishes wouldn't come true if they spoke them aloud. Whether or not their wishes came true...

...remains to be seen.
