Chapter 4: John's Missing/ The reveal

The next morning, Alice was driving her car when she got a call from her boss. Alice saw her phone and tapped her car screen by asking, "Hello?" Alice's boss on the phone asked with concern, "Hey Alice, Did you hear the news?"

Alice was a bit confused, not seeing what was going on the radio news, asked with concern, "No, what happened?" Alice's boss tells Alice by replying,"One of our staff members, John Ribbit, went missing last night." Alice asks with concern,"What happened?"

Her boss just replied causality, "Oh, John probably just moved to another town." When Alice heard this, she became very suspicious of her own boss. Alice knows her friend John since childhood and wouldn't just leave their hometown without letting her.

Alice had two choices ethier she could keep her job and take them down from the inside out as their own gang or quit her job and risk being kidnapped, but also slienced. Alice wanted nothing to happen to her community or her family, so she chose the first option. Pretending that nothing was wrong, Alice says to her boss, "Yeah, you're right."

Then, Alice's boss replies back, "Alright Alice, I'll see you tomorrow!" Alice says casually, "I'll see you then, bye." After Alice hanged up the phone, she drove all the way home with determination for having justice for her old childhood friend, John Ribbit.

When Alice got home, she walked in by saying,"I'm home." Then, Alice hears Jane coming downstairs to hug her. Alice not seeing her son or husband asks her, "Sweety, have you seen your father or brother?"

Jane replies to Alice, "Yeah, Dad went to pick up Jr. from his acting lessons." Then, Alice just realized by sighing replies, "Darn it, I just remembered. I'm so sorry, dear."

Jane asks her mom with concern, "Mom, are you okay?" Alice says to her daughter, "Jane, I just." Then, they were both interrupted by Peter saying to Alice with a bit of excitement, "Mom, you wouldn't believe what Dad did."

Behind Peter was Alice's husband asking him with a stern tone, "Aren't you going to tell her what you did at school today, son?" Then, Alice asked her son,
with a curious tone,"What did you do, son?" Peter replied nervously, "Well, I may or may not beat the crap out of our school bully."

Alice asks her son curiously, "You didn't do it, right?" Pete interrupts him by replying with happiness, "He did, Alice! I told him to take down that bastard." Alice says to Peter, "I'm so proud." 

Alice says to Pete, "Alright, I'm going to be in the living room if you need me." Pete, knowing that something is wrong with his wife, says to Peter, "Im going to talk with your mom, okay son." Peter says to his father, "Okay, dad."

Pete went up to Alice by saying with a nervous smile, "Hey, my little lost girl." Pete asks with a frown,"Are you alright?" Alice glares at him and keeps reading her book.

Pete sighs by asking Alice,"Is this about  us?" Then, Alice stops reading and replies, "No dear, it's that I just got fired for my job, and I feel like their hiding something from me."

Pete says to Alice, "Sweetly, I doubt that they had something to do with this. Maybe, they hired someone else, like what normal people." Alice says to Pete, "Somehow, I don't believe you."

Pete pretends not to know what Alice is talking about and asks her, "Sweetly, are okay? Do you need me to schedule your threatist appointment?" Alice says to Pete with an upset tone, "I'm serious, Pete."

Pete interrupts her before she talks, saying, "Alice, I'm tired, and you're tired." Pete says to Alice, getting off the chair, " Get's go to bed, alright." Alice defected says,"Alright, but we're talking about this tomorrow."
