Chapter 46

Evianna's POV

Three months have passed since the attack at home. There has been no activity from the Germans besides the attempt to steal our weapons last month. It has been oddly quiet and it just means something big is going to happen.

We went to school on most days while the others was us going on missions. Alex and Ryan have been official since the night Alex got shot. Ana and Nathan have been going strong with their love life. Gio and Josh have been talking and from what Gio said they are 'taking it slow and see where it goes' which I am content with seeing them smile at each other every time they get.

A week after the attack, I met with Chris and his family to which we had an ice cream date. Chris kept talking about his school, friends but especially his best friend Chloe. The whole time he spoke with enthusiasm, I just looked at him amused while his parents looked at him with softness and adoration. Chris texts me a lot updating me about his life which made his mum text me once apologising for Chris' disturbance. I didn't mind, I found it a good source of entertainment.

Daritone's sales have skyrocketed ever since we launched our recent jewellery line. I surprised mum, mama and μαμά with the new one which I received many compliments on. Knowing, the world appreciates the hard work that my workers did to make my designs come to life makes me proud. They deserve as much credit as I do for making it all a reality.

Gabe and I are doing well. Since that night, we've been talking more, making sure our line of communication does not falter and he has been taking me on dates to in his words 'win me back' but he already has me. I just needed some time and space to think about his revelation which he understood. We have grown stronger together and our love for each other never stops even with all the hurdles.

I have also gotten much closer to the Romanos, my biological family and I can feel my heart getting fuller each day I have them in my life. The Kastellanos has always been the same to me and they never once gave up on me. Tomorrow is the mafia ball that has been making everyone on their toes. I have a feeling something is going to happen and that all will be biting me in the ass tomorrow. I'm prepared to endure whatever it is as long as it's done. The destruction of Germans is so close and I will parade on it as they were the one who robbed my childhood and many others.

Right now, we're all on the jet to France where the ball will be held. We will be staying in one of Ryan, Gio, Ana and I's houses that we stay during missions. Emilio, Sierra and Xavier came along too but they will be staying at the house with mama since no one really knows who the Gonzalez family is and what they look like. This way, they will be safe.

As for Gabe, Sam, Angelo and papa, they will be wearing a mask that will conceal half their faces as they are permitted since the Spanish Mafia is first in the ranks. Every year, only the Spanish are allowed to wear them as it shows that they have the highest rank and that they are entitled to show their identity or hide them. Those who dare try to take their mask off will be executed immediately in the room with no remorse.

It also helps since you're in a room filled with killers that no one will say anything about the dead bodies.

I've been playing UNO with Ryan, Gio and Ana for the last twenty minutes and Ana keeps on winning. "Hah suck on that. Five times in a row suckers," she exclaimed making the three of us groan.

"What the hell Ana. How do you keep on winning? Let me win goddamn it," Gio whined as Ryan and I just looked between the two of them knowing a petty fight is going to happen.
