"It's here?" Harry jumped off his chair and ran into the office in the back off the store
"It is" Mary smiled at him and held up the book he had been looking for, for ages.
It was an original of 'burning in water, drowning in flame' by Charles Bukowski. It was one of Louis and Harry's favourites and it also held great significance to them. Being that it was the book Louis bought the first time they met and he wrote a quote from it in Harrys book. A quote that hits very close to home lately. But he's been looking for this book for a long time, wanting to give it to Louis, and finally, it was here.
He grabbed it from Mary and walked back to the counter, as he sat down he grabbed a pen and flipped the book open. Writing quotes to each other in books had become their thing and he had just the right quote in mind.
Once he had written it down he read it over making sure he made it right. It was important, it was for Lou and it meant a lot. He scrunched his nose looking at his crooked letters, he never liked his handwriting, but it was good enough. It was meant to be personal and it couldn't get more personal than Harrys big capital, crooked writing.
It was Monday right after lunch and Harry has been soaring on clouds since Louis was at his place yesterday. Everything Louis does ignites this spark in Harry, a hope and a longing. He was going to do this. He'd get Louis back. It doesn't matter if he remembers or not, Harry will remember for the both of them, always. Once the time is right he's going to tell Louis, he has the right to know.
Louis is leaving soon, Harry's still scared about it, not as much about Louis forgetting, he'll just remind him again. But what if he meets someone? He's trying to calm himself down knowing Lou usually don't have much free time while on tour. It will be alright, they are going to start write together again, that gives Harry a fair chance. And besides, Niall will be with him, he knows Niall has always rooted for them, he will surely have Harrys back.
Just then Harrys phone vibrated, he picked it up feeling the butterflies stirring in his stomach again as he read the name
Lou <3
Curly, you up for some writing today? I have a few ideas.
/Louis
Harry smiled to himself, the nickname alone set his heart on fire. God, he loved this man more than anything, he can't wait to let him know just how much.
I get off work at 4, I'm free after that. Where do you want to meet? :)
Lou <3
Your place? I saw you had a guitar and a piano, might come in handy. ;)
Was Lou flirting? no, surely not, he was just teasing.
Sounds good. See you. :)
Harry puts his phone down, smiling so wide it reaches his ears, somewhere his dimples are surely on show. Those damned dimples seem to love Louis to, seeing as how they always manifest whenever Louis is around or just mentioned. Louis always teases him and puts his finger in them, Harry's always been insecure about them, but Louis for some reason thinks they're adorable. Or he used to think so at least, don't know about now. Does amnesia change what you're physically attracted to? God, let's hope not.
"What's got you all smiley?" Mary asks as she puts down some books on the counter in front of Harry.
Harry just shrugs and blushes, always Louis, making him blush. He doesn't even have to be present to make Harry blush it's ridiculous.
"Aaaah, Louis I see" Mary winks at him
"Oh shush." Harry says waving his hand at her trying to make her go away.
