"holy—"

she gets out of bed and looks around, recognizing the place to be the gilbert's residence. she gets out of her mom, jenna sommers old bed and makes her way towards the mirror. alice stares into her reflection, a large plaster on her neck and her neck cleaned up. she's changed into jeremy's blouse. she wondered if it was elena who changed her.

alice walks out of the room and makes her way down the stairs to see elena sitting on the couch, reading a envelope. hearing the girls footsteps, she quickly looks up to face her best friend. "alice, oh my god. what happened to you?" elena walks over to her and wraps her arms tightly around her. she pulls away and holds the girls shoulder. "i mean, i know it was by a vampire. but who??"

her eyebrows furrow, mind feeling fuzzy. she knew she wasn't compelled as alice still had her anklet on. with vervain. but, it was possible she was suffering from head trauma and that would lead to her not remembering much. "i...don't know. and i know for sure i wasn't compelled. but, it was a man...i think? he was very tall." she murmurs, trying to recall the incident.

alice's eyes scan down to the envelope in elena's grip. "what's that?" she questions.

"uh- the originals, they're all a family and they're all undaggered. turns out klaus' mom isn't really dead, i'm not sure how. they're throwing a ball- and, she wants to speak to me privately but—"

"stefan and damon don't want you to."

elena's lips purse, nodding, feeling slightly annoyed. "but i have to know what she wants. this might be my in chance of getting rid of klaus." she murmurs. "and i know i'm going. i already ordered a dress for us."

alice's eyes widen. "i'm sorry- us? whose us? i was attacked by a vampire and i don't even remember his face. and imagine the irony if he's there and i don't even recognize him. honestly, i'd be asking to be bit again."

sighing, elena curses under her breath. "yeah, you're right. i shouldn't have even asked. i'm sorry. i don't even know how you're standing. you lost a lot of blood."

there it was. elena making alice feel guilty without even realizing. frowning, the sommers runs a hand through her hair but instantly regrets it as she moves her neck a little and it immediately felt like her wound was being stretched. she groans as she presses her palm to the wound.

"fine. fine, i'm coming. but what time even is it?"

elena finds herself grinning. "in a few hours. while we wait for our dresses, we have to get ready. i do your hair and you do mine?" alice finds herself nodding, a timid smile forming on her lips, knowing she would regret it. elena grabs her hand and pulls her up the stairs while the sommers tries her best not to faint.

-

"i..can't...believe...you...got," alice pulls her large gown out of the car with struggle. elena smiles softly as alice closes the door and elena turns off the car. "me the biggest gown ever." they walk towards the stairs, the two lifting up the gowns.

elena grins. "well, white has always been your color, you love mesh clothes...and you still watch cinderella, so i thought this dress would fit you perfectly." she comments, her fingers lightly gripping at her dress and her eyes scanning around.

"white isn't a color." alice corrects. elena laughs, shaking her head as they make it to the top of the staircase. elena tightens the black scarf around her, while alice holds her light pink scarf. they look at each other. "be careful with her. you know i don't trust mikaelsons, even elijah."

"hella carol." damon hands her a glass of champagne.

"hello." carol smiles as she clings glasses with damon. damon smirks at carol. "hanging out with your new besties?" he teases the Mayo.

carol smiles, anyone could tell from the slightest, that her smile was forced. she wasn't happy about the fact that her town, of all towns, had the strongest, most brutal vampires. but there was nothing she could do about it. "i'm the mayor, damon. when the oldest, deadliest, family of vampires moves into your town, you welcome them with a smile."

"hmm, well at least you know who you're borrowing that cup of sugar from." comments damon, his eyes scan around, hoping to find the original mother. "i'm trying to protect this town. they've assured me they want peace, and I've assured them that I'd enforce it." carol tells damon.

a handsome brown haired man with a playful smirk, kisses carols hand "mayor lockwood. we haven't formally met. kol mikaelson. i hope your lovely town embraces us just as much as we plan to embrace it."

"damon salvatore. have we met?" damon questions as kol eyes him, judging him. he didn't like the man in front of him, he could tell he was a vampire, too. and knew well that damon and his brother were experts at starting drama. or, even. ending drama.

kol then looks to his hand but doesn't shake it "i've met a lot of people. and you don't particularly stand out." kol says. suddenly, damon turns away and looks towards the entrance. with confusion, kol follows his eyes and sees a human doppelgänger. but then someone else follows her in. the girl he bit last night, her hair over her shoulder to cover her neck.

"what a small world." kol comments with a smirk and damon walks towards her. he was about to follow when someone appeared in front of him. rebekah.

"don't even think about it." rebekah tells him steely, linking her arms with him and pulling him away.

kol looks at her over his shoulder. a smirk forming on his lips, feeling excitement bubble up in his chest. sure, this could go terribly wrong. but he didn't care.
