Ch3: Please Wake Up, Miranda

Meanwhile...

Miranda was sitting in the courtyard, under the shade of a palm tree.

She was waiting patiently for Atem and Atarya to join her.

As she was waiting and praying, an Egyptian goddess came out of the water of the oasis and began to come towards her.

Just as Miranda was finished praying, she opened her eyes and she was now looking at a hippo that was wearing royal Egyptian goddess clothes and what was holding her tunic together was a golden scarab necklace.

"Can I... Can I help you...?" Miranda said, making eye contact with the hippo goddess.

The hippo goddess then began to laugh, uncontrollably.

Miranda looked at her, confused.

What was so funny...?

"Well... I can see that you don't remember me, do you...?" Taweret said, with a chuckle even though, the memory loss part wasn't funny.

Miranda then began to think.

"Um... Let's see... You have the body of a hippo but, you have the smarts and wiseness of the Egyptian gods. Plus, you're wearing royal clothing and your belly is intuitively huge..." She said, trying to remember.

Then, Miranda remembered exactly what Atarya had told her...

<~ Flashback ~>

After the dance battle between her and Johnny Steps and how she won, Atem took her to the park so that the both of them could cool off.

Especially since Atem was extremely angry for when Johnny tripped her up during the dance battle, which almost made her fall.

Atem noticed that the bench had no one sitting on it so, he decided to grab a spot for him and Miranda.

As Miranda was trying to keep up with him while they were holding hands and as she was limping, she could see some hippo lady goddess looking at her from across the shore of the pond.

Atarya then came out of the millennium ball, in translucent form.

"I cannot believe that Johnny Steps jerk did that to you, Miranda. Don't worry... I'll get revenge on him for what he did to you..." She said, in sympathy, in hopes that she could make Miranda feel better.

Miranda sighed.

"It's okay, Atarya... Daddy Yami said that he'll be the one to get revenge on Johnny Steps. Besides, he was the one who witnessed me getting tripped up while you were in the millennium ball, doing who knows what in there..." She said, looking up at her with a sad smile.

Just as they reached him, Miranda had begun to sit down beside him.

Atem looked at her.

"Hey, Little One. We had a good day, didn't we...? Well... Aside from you getting tripped up by that Johnny Steps person but, overall... We had a good day!" He said, wiping the tears that were now dripping down from the girl's purple eyes.
