Hoseok was a city guy, he came from the big city, he had studied arts at the University, he loved dancing above all things, and he discovered he also had the "magical gift" when he was just 17, or rather his family discovered it. His parents were accepting, they were even more concerned about the life and future of their only son than his constant small magical accidents like floating out of nowhere, falling down the stairs, making things explode, or even getting poisoned for listening and trusting a suspicious plant that simply told him to "eat it, as it was safe", honestly his parents had a handful with their clumsy magical son.
Hoseok's sister also was concerned, even in a big city, people didn't want to be around anyone who was weird or who could possibly be one of those crazy people who went about life playing with unknown forces.
His parents at first wanted to make their son suppress it, they didn't want him to go through that path, they knew he would encounter rejection and a really difficult life. As they didn't know anything about magic, and did not even believe in it at first they were scared, they didn't know how to help their son.
His sister was really supportive in that matter, she instead wanted him to follow his dreams, even though it meant he would need to go through that path, she believed in him, so she knew even if he chooses in the end that path, she was going to be proud of him.
In the end he chose the magic path, he followed his dreams, he always had loved nature, he had always felt a special connection since his childhood he had always been the weird kid who would spend his free time wandering in the forest, playing in the garden or lakes. People in his neighborhood and schools had always known him as the type of kid who always will be speaking with the animals around him, and was covered in dirt after playing in the garden or watering the plants, he always loved to know every species of plants, trees, and birds. In his free time he would go looking for flowers and animals.
So he was always studying and learning all about plants and animals, but when his gift appeared he discovered this special connection was all part of it, he now could feel what plants needed or were feeling, some flowers, herbs and plants still fooled him and give him a hard time, after all he was so innocent and he had an ingenuity aura around him, he also could understand animals too, and not just that, but he discovered he could heal plants, and cure the small animals, he knew what remedies, plants, and treatments they needed to be healed.
So he also began seeking for more training in this field concerning his magical skills development, but in a big city like that, and without traveling around the kingdom, it was difficult for him to find someone like him who could teach him, he also wasn't so good with magic, most of the times he felt his powers were really limited, so he soon desisted looking for a teacher, he just began to do what he was capable of doing, what prove to be difficult as he was prone to get hurt in the process and he was really clumsy from time to time.
