Two Miracles

Virion POV:

The atmosphere in the royal box became heavier after the first match. Everyone except for the human king and queen including me were shocked by how effortlessly Gary defeated Feyrith.

"HAHAHAHA!" Blaine suddenly laughed out before clapping his hands. "Just as I thought, we humans are going to sweep this tournament!" he announced with pride and greed evident in his eyes.

"Just because you have won once doesn't get you the right to be so arrogant!" Alduin replied in anger.

"Heh!" Blaine scoffed before pointing down to the two new contestants coming. First one to enter the stage was the dwarven candidate, Rai, who was 13 years old now and was one of the most promising. He was facing Lancelot, another 8 year old brat from the human side

However, what happened next shocked me. Lancelot took just two spells to beat Rai. His first spell defended against Rai's attacks and his second spell send Rai flying out of the stage, unconscious.

The Greysunders were truly shocked now like the rest of us while Blaine simply laughed.

He then turned towards us and said, "I bet that no elf or dwarf will even reach top 3 ranking. Hell, I believe that humans would take all top 4 spots but it's a bit doubtful seeing the random placing of participants."

Alduin and Dawsid's faces were red in anger and shame but they couldn't refute Blaine's statements. 

'Lancelot and Gary. Those two are even more monstrous than my two brats.' I thought.

Arthur POV:

'Another prodigy,' I thought as I looked at how easily Lancelot defeated his dwarven opponent. 

"You were right, brat. The world is truly vast," Adam gulped as he looked down. "Both of them didn't even come close to releasing all their strength," Alistair said as he was also shocked by the strength of the contestants. 

'I should have found a way for us to participate, this would have been fun,' I thought, slightly bitter that I couldn't test my strength against Lancelot and Gary.

The rest of the matches in the first round were much calmer. That did not mean they were bad.

'All the contestants have atleast a red core and are around 12 years of age. They would be considered top of line geniuses if not for the existence of those two.'

'However, I am curious about Rachel Glidesburn. She is also very young but she avoided the first round due to her luck.'

"Now, we'll begin the quarterfinals in some time. Please relax till then," Director announced before walking off the stage.

Some time later

The quarterfinals were boring. The most exciting part was Rachel showing her strength. Her control over water was truly incredible and she managed to defeat the red haired girl rather easily.

In the semifinals, the first match was between Lancelot and Darror, a dwarf. The second match was between Gary and Rachel.

The first match ended exactly like the others. Darror was even weaker than Rai so he was defeated with just a single spell.

Finally, a more interesting match was up, Rachel Glidesburn vs Gary Whiteborn.

"Whiteborn is the name of the most powerful noble family in the kingdom, archdukedom of Whiteborn. Their power is considered to equal that of Glayder Royal Family. Glidesburn is a marquis family whose current head is a silver core mage. They recently got connected to the Orbel dukedom through engagement."
