Gary (Ren Dover) POV:

"Gary, you will be spending your time in the royal palace from now on," my father abruptly told me.

If not for Monarch's Indifference, my spoon would have dropped right there. 

Clank!

'Looks like my mother's spoon dropped,' I thought as I looked at her shocked expression with pity.

"W-what do you mean he's going to be spending time in the palace?" she stuttered out while staring at my father.

"The princess thinks that your relationship with her isn't close enough and wants you to stay over," he ignored my mother and replied to my questioning gaze.

"Is that allowed?" I asked him.

"You can stay there for four to five months under the guise of training under the lances. Then you can also come back to stay in our mansion in Etistin if necessary."

"We should move there then!" my mother exclaimed.

"Gary is only ten years old but he's more than mature enough. He should also learn how to take care of a mansion by himself," father replied coldly.

My mother's future questions were silenced by his glare and she grumbled before eating.

'I noticed this before, but my mother is a bit childish,' I thought while eating my food, 'She's always like a child being disciplined by my father.'

I turned to look towards my father and what I saw almost caused my head to explode.

'W-wait, is he s-s-smiling!?' I thought frantically. 'No, it can't be right? I must have looked wrong!'

However, the image of his lips slightly pointing upwards in a small smile had already burned into my mind.

I quickly calmed down before thinking, 'Did my father.... marry mother because of this? My cold father who only looks for profit?'

'But if I think about it, it makes sense. My mother is from a Marquis family so she doesn't offer much power. Not only that, he also wanted Kathyln and I to love each other and get closer rather than marrying for power and influence.'

After we were done with breakfast, I was still quite shaken up about what happened. I sighed before looking out the window. Looks like it's time for a new beginning.

Kathyln POV:

(A/N: If you guys want, I'll add an extra mini series describing the character interactions while they were researching mana zone. I don't think it will be very interesting so it's up to you guys if you want it.)

I am in love with Gary Whiteborn. When did this feeling start? It may have been when he saved me from the assassins in the palace, or maybe during our time spent while researching mana zone.

The one moment I remember the most is when Gary told me, "Kathyln, you look much more beautiful when smiling. Make sure you never mask your emotions and always reveal what you feel about others."

I thought it was hypocritical of him to say that when he himself hides his emotions. However, his cold expression on his face as he gazed at the stars was replaced by one of slight sadness. My heart started to beat faster while I felt my own mood fall down.

This is why I invited him to live in the royal palace for some time as a guest. I want him to stay close to me and spent more time with before we go to Xyrus Academy. 

'I know it's selfish but I need him to spend time with me. If he doesn't, my heart may just burst from missing him.'

I sighed. Honestly, Gary was a top-notch seducer with that face and personality of his, even if he didn't notice it.
