Once they reached the breakroom, Talia tapped a finger on the "Authorized Personnel Only" sign on the outside of the door.
"Guess I don't have clearance for this area," she said as she stuffed her hands into her pockets and leaned against the door frame, her eyes following Misaki around the breakroom.
"Guess not," Misaki replied simply, her voice stiff from nerves.
Thankfully, she managed to unlock her locker from muscle memory; unfortunately, she suddenly blanked out on where she put her phone.
"Next time I see you, will you be wearing that uniform?" Talia asked, her suggestive tone not helping Misaki's latest in a long string of predicaments.
Misaki cleared her throat before she replied, and she determinedly focused herself on finding her phone as soon as possible. "Nope. Definitely not."
At last, Misaki found her elusive device in the back corner of her locker, right where she always left it, and headed back to the doorway where Talia was waiting.
"That's a shame." Talia said as she took the offered phone and began typing in her number. "You look great in it."
"Yeah, well, I look better with it off," Misaki replied challengingly, more concerned about getting payback for Talia's earlier comment than registering the words she was saying.
And her tactic worked. For a moment, Talia could only stare at her, eyes wide and lips slightly parted in surprise, and Misaki couldn't wait for the next chance to catch her off-guard.
Until she finally realized what she just implied, and Misaki felt her face quickly grow warmer than it already was.
"Well, then," Talia eventually managed to reply, and she took a step closer as she returned Misaki's phone. "I guess I'll have to confirm that for myself sometime."
That was not what Misaki expected. As surprised as she was, she stubbornly held her ground, not wanting to reveal that she was only talking big.
"'Sometime' is a little vague," Misaki said, her voice softer than she expected as Talia's face drew closer.
A corner of Talia's mouth quirked up. "How about 'soon' then?"
And before Misaki knew it, their lips were pressed together. She didn't know if she or Talia started it — maybe it was a mutual action — but Misaki didn't really care. Actually, at that moment, she didn't really care about anything. All she cared about was Talia and how her lips, while slightly rough, were soft in the way that they moved over Misaki's, urgent but gentle.
Misaki quickly tossed her phone to the side without checking to see where it landed. More importantly, her newly freed hands soon found their way to Talia. Her right gripped Talia's jacket, desperately holding her close. Her left worked its way into Talia's braid just to feel its smoothness envelope her skin. In the heat of the moment, Misaki felt her fingers tighten their grip; a second later, Talia responded with a low hum that echoed in Misaki's ears and thrummed throughout her body.
Before she knew it, Talia's hands were gripping her hips and pushing her further into the break room, only stopping when Misaki bumped into the far wall. At the sudden stop, their teeth accidentally clacked together, and the sound was enough to startle a pause from them both.
"Whoops," Talia muttered with a slight grin.
"You're not supposed to be in here," Misaki said, trying to stifle her own laughter over their joint clumsiness.
"So what, are you going to arrest me?" Talia dared, suddenly serious as she challenged Misaki with a deep stare from her light brown eyes.
For a second, Misaki hesitated. She had to go back to work. The others probably needed all the help they could get, and here she was acting inappropriate with a customer while on the clock.
