Author Notes: This is probably going to be a short chapter since it's just some of the same stuff from Eddie's POV.

Eddie's POV

Today had been the most eventful first day of senior year so far of the three he's had, which was definitely saying something, Eddie thought as her walked towards his American History class. His mind flashed back to that morning when he was drawing in class and saw someone pass by him right as the bell rang.

He looked over, seeing that there was a girl a few inches shorter than him with long brown hair who was packing a backpack and a satchel that looked like it had two decent sized books stuffed in there somehow. He turned back towards his drawing, knowing that seat would later likely be his leg-rest once she figured out who she was sitting next to after a week tops, but he was at least thankful it seemed like she wasn't in the popular, uptight crowd.

Mrs. Jenkins went over the same spill he had already heard the other two times he had taken the course, so he continued working on his next D&D plan, oblivious to the girl next to him trying to get his attention.

"Hey, rocker dude, do you mind if I look at your book, she said she didn't have enough books." The girls whispered, gesturing towards the teacher up front. At first, he just tried to pass her the book, but she ended up insisting they both read, so he gave in since her logic did make sense after all. Somehow, he had ended up passing notes all throughout class with Wren, who he now knew the name of, and figured she seemed nice for someone who would probably avoid him after this class if she made friends with some of the other Hawkins locals.

By the time the first bell ended they realized that they also had their next class together too. Eddie at first was a bit happy, but stopped his thoughts as he knew it wouldn't be right to let her be an outcast on her first day, especially considering she hadn't even wanted attention to her drawn in class. Before he got out the door, he stopped her as the last few stragglers went out into the hall.

"I do have to warn you though it's probably best you don't know me in there though, no offense to you, you're really sweet but if you're looking for a nice social life here it might be best that you don't hang out with Eddie the freak, you know?" Eddie nervously chuckled, chancing out into the hall.

Wren had looked at him, a bit bewildered by the fact he had thought she would just disassociate from him right after class and commented "Oh please, I may want to get decent grades in school and not be gawked at as the new kid, but that definitely doesn't mean I care about what some random Hawkins kids think about my choice in friends." Eddie got a huge smile, something he doesn't usually get much outside of D&D and jokes about them being friends. Much to his dismay and satisfaction, she says that he is in fact her friend.

His thoughts drifted back into the present, as he heard his name getting called for role and he said he was there. Honestly, he didn't even remember the last time he had a normal conversation like that outside of the D&D club and Reefer Rick's house, he thought, his mind drifting back to Wren again. He thought it was odd that she was so friendly since she seemed pretty enough to be the cheerleader-type if she tried, although from the looks of things he could tell she definitely wasn't the type to like sports either since she was even aware she had a librarian vibe going on with her brown cardigan and mom jeans.

Eddie looked up at the board again and then at his notebook, which had had note in already from the year before, and looked around, wondering if this year really was going to be his year, like he had told his Uncle Wayne that morning on his way to school, as he had patted the old picture of his parents from before the car crash about a year ago, as he went through the door to school.
