Eddie's POV

Eddie and Kenneth both separate from the other guys as they head towards the art room.

"So... Wren huh?" Kenneth tries to say a bit nonchalantly, as he looks out the corner of his eye at Eddie. Eddie could already see what he was trying to get at, narrowing his eyes back a little.

"What about her?" He answered innocently, not feeling like getting badgered by one of his best friends.

"Don't play dumb Ed we both know what I'm getting at." Kenneth says, getting to the door and looks back at Eddie who is still catching up to his large strides.

"Jesus Kenny, what you think I'm just going to sl-" he looks around a bit as they find a desk, lowering his voice to a whisper "that I'm going to fool around with some girl I just met today, regardless of however much Henderson thinks of me as some sort of heavy metal sex god, when's the last time you've even seen me talk to a woman that isn't a teacher?" Eddie stares at Kenneth as Kenneth thinks hard on an answer.

"Well last year that Chrissie girl pretended to act nice to you for a discount on weed until that Will kid told you she was dating Jason." Kenny whispers back as the class is about to start.

"Exactly, pretended being the key word, and not only that but I somehow had gotten the idea I could ask her out at some point on top of that." Eddie says quietly as they both watch the teacher stand up, indicating class to start. Even though Eddie had been in school for a while, you'd think he would have figured out when someone is faking, he thought to himself as his favorite teacher, Mrs. Gaile started introducing herself to the class. He always had a soft spot for the older woman who was like family to him at this point, considering how many times he had taken her class, and how each time she always complimented his art as one of the best in ones in the class as well. She even trusted him with helping paint some of the props for the school play, along with holding on to some of the old costumes like a lion for last year's Wizard of Oz.

Mrs. Gaile looked up and smiled, as if she knew he were thinking about her then, and continued looking around at the other students, informing them that art wasn't just an easy A, for all those who were hoping to slack. Art was actually one of the only subjects he actually put effort into each semester, each time turning in different Dungeons & Dragons related artworks he came up with. Each time Mrs. Gaile was happy to see that one of her students had actually applied themselves, rather than tracing over a picture of something like a football or fashion catalog, which sadly a lot of students seemed to do in her class.

Eddie's thought drifted back to his love life, or lack thereof so to speak. He knew he wasn't necessarily the ladies' first pick considering how he was the leader of the D&D club and had gotten held back twice, even if the last time was due to being in the hospital after his parents had died.

Yep, good old mom and dad. He thought to himself sadly as he remembered what happened a little over a year ago. His parents had decided that it would be a good idea to go out and get some fast food that night as a family. On their way to the restaurant, a drunk driver on one of the smaller roads had swerved a bit and hit their car face on, killing his dad on impact and leaving he and his mom injured. On the way to the hospital his mom had died from blood loss, while Eddie had a few broken ribs and had to wear a leg cast for a long time. That's how he ended up getting behind on school again, considering once he finally was able to attend school again the year was about a third of the way over and he had a mountain of homework. Uncle Wayne, his mom's brother, had taken the news roughly at first and drank himself senseless, but had since gotten a bit better with the alcohol, and was trying to be a better adult figure in Eddie's life.

Ironically enough, Eddie thought, he had also in his own way tried to help his uncle out financially, by not trying to need a lot. By that he meant that he started being the school's weed dealer when his old buddy 'Reefer Rick' offered him the job when he had heard about Eddie's situation. As of recently though, Rick had been busted for drugs, leaving Eddie with the last of the supply he had gotten and a jar of cash at home that he wondered if he still should wait to split with Rick when he got out of jail again.

Wonderful, a job that mom and dad would love, a part of his brain said sarcastically, while the other part of him also thought they'd understand, besides this year will finally my year, as he heard the bell ring, surprised that the class seemed to go by so quickly, looking down at the night sky he had drawn.

Author Notes: I know, another short chapter, but sometimes I don't know what else to write from Eddie's POV, I'll try writing more from his once this first day is over though. :)  Thank you for reading this far and if anyone sees any awkward wording, please tell me if you could, thank you.
