Wren's POV
Wren's third class seemed to fly by, with her and Steve giving each other goofy looks every time the teacher turned around to write an equation on the board. At the end of class, as the bell rang and the two filed out of the room with the other students.
"So, you are you making any new friends yet?" Steve curiously asked, hoping that Wren would have someone to eat lunch with since their lunch hours were different.
"If you must know, yes one to be precise, his name's Eddie Munson, if you know who that is?" Wren answered looking up at Steve for an answer. He had an odd look on his face but shook it off.
"I mean yeah, everyone here sort of does, I don't know how about that low profile you were going for though if he's your first friend." Steve chuckles a bit awkwardly. "But on the other hand, Henderson and the gang love the guy to pieces, like sometimes that's at they talk about." He finished, knowing that if Dustin was friends with the guy, he must not be too bad.
"Well, the first part I've definitely heard before, and how did I just now put two and two together that Munson is the dungeon master guy from school that Henderson's mentioned?!" Wren pondered out loud, face palming as she did. She knew Dustin and Lucas had mentioned a "dungeon master" a few times when he was working with Steve, but she hadn't even thought to ask about that to Eddie when he had said he was the leader of the D&D club for the school.
"Hey at least now I may not owe Robin that $5 bucks she bet about you finishing that angry car book you were reading before school's up." Steve jokes, referring to "Christine", which Wren embarrassingly knew she would have read in the bathroom if she hadn't found someone to sit by in time for lunch.
"Well, I'm glad I earned you some money Harrington, as a matter of fact maybe you wouldn't mind sharing a bit of the profits." Wren commented, trying to give the best doe-eyed look possible.
"Wow, would you look at the time, looks like I got to go." Steve said gesturing towards his invisible watch as he waved and winked as he walked towards his class. Wren rolled her eyes and waved back, knowing that she might not let this go when they got back to the car.
Once she got to the cafeteria Wren spotted Mike and Dustin milling around near the doors.
"Hey guys, where's Lucas?" She observes as they look between each other a bit hesitantly, thinking about what answer to give.
"Well, you see, we were wondering that at first too but right before you got here, he actually informed us he would be sitting with the basketball team this time." Dustin says, with a little sarcasm when he got to the last part. Wren could tell the two boys weren't too thrilled about this new revelation, although when Lucas had first tried out and made the team that summer, they had all congratulated him for it.
"Well guys, you know he's always going to be part of your little wolf pack, and speaking of your group I was wondering if either of you boys have seen Eddie from your D&D club?" Wren comments, hoping that they wouldn't think too hard about the Lucas situation. Dustin and Mike looked at each other with wide eyes and then looked back towards her.
"Eddie? Like Eddie Munson Eddie?" Mike interjected before Dustin could say anything.
"Unless there is some other Eddie that's also the leader of the D&D club, obviously." Wren sarcastically says back, rolling her eyes at the two surprised teens.
Before the two could answer, she felt an arm around her shoulder and looked over to see that it was attached to the person in question.
"Nope, just the one and only," Eddie says with a mischievous look, "I see you already know these little munchkins already. I assume Harrington?"
