After WW2 came to an end, Blue Island Lines began to rebuild their fleet after losing there largest ships during the war.

Each ship of the fleet was an entirely new design each with different cruise intentions.


Post WW2 Fleet: Late 1940's, 1950's to Early 60's

1st Ship: RMS Carolina: Launched: May 21, 1949. Status: Scrapped in 1975

2nd Ship: MV Gustavo: Launched: June, 11, 1951. Status: Retired in 1985. Renovated in 1990, as a replica of the Whilhelm Gustloff and into a Museum Ship, located in Rostock, Germany.

3rd Ship: MV Georgica: Launched: March 2, 1950. Status: Scrapped in 1999.

4th Ship: MS Bartesian: Launched: August 19, 1951. Status: Scrapped in 1986.

5th Ship: SS Franchesco: Launched: January 18, 1952. Status: Scrapped in 1986.

6th Ship: SS Remington: Launched: July 17, 1954. Status: Ran aground and ship broken up in 1967.

7th Ship: SS Archangel: Launched: February 1, 1955. Status: Status: Retired in 1986. Renovated in 1991, as a replica of the SS Normandie, as a Hotel Ship, located in New York City. Will be moved to Global Cruise Ship Museum and Hotel Complex and will be renamed to "Dominion".

8th Ship: SS Cape Island: Launched: April 3, 1953. Status: Scrapped in 1972.

9th Ship: SS Brevardo: Launched: September 21 1951. Status: Scrapped in 1974.

10th Ship: SS Alexander: Launched: October 22 1956. Status: Scrapped in 1976.

11th Ship: SS Australia: Launched: November 20, 1948. Status: Retired in 2002. Renovated in 2009, as a replica of the SS America, as a Museum Ship, currently undergoing renovations in New York City for Global Cruise Ship Museum and Hotel Complex.

12th Ship: MS Sea Dolphin: Launched: December, 15, 1956. Status: Transitioned to Sea Global Lines in 1978 and renamed "MS Shark King". Currently in undergoing renovations in Germany to become a Hotel Ship for Global Cruise Ship Museum and Hotel Complex.
