With the acquisition of the North America Cargo Shipping Company in 1975, Global Sea's a chance to get into the shipping business, and the NACS had ordered five new freight-ships to work along the coast of the US.

1st Ship: SS Texas: Launched: May 18, 1978. Status: Retired in 2015. Currently in undergoing renovations in Belfast to become a Museum Ship for Global Cruise Ship Museum and Hotel Complex.

2nd Ship: SS Carolina: Launched: March 23, 1979. Status: In Service.

3rd Ship: SS York: Launched: October 21, 1980. Status: In Service.

4th Ship: SS Maine: Launched: February 27, 1982. Status: In Service.

5th Ship: SS Washington: Launched: March 3 , 1985. Status: In Service.


Launch and Career: 1975 - Present

While not the largest ships, as these were made for shipping ore, across the coast and these ships are often called Ghost Ships, due to the facts, they are never seen, out at sea, and their are very few pictures of these ships at docks exist, mostly in New York City or in San Francisco, and they don't have a Port of Registration. Their only registry is number's One though Five located on the stern of the ship, under the ship's nameplate.
