With the Blue Four becoming outdated, Blue Island Lines, ordered two new ships to replace them, and the Ocean Twins were born.

Launched and Early Career:

With the announcement of these new ships, they quickly became popular among those who used the Lines, and helped Blue Island through World War 2.

The ships even though were the same they had one minor difference, their funnel color. The standard funnel color is Blue, which Blue Ocean had, but Green Ocean had Green funnels.


Fate: World War 2 Sinking's:

Even though Blue Island Lines wasn't helping ship Military cargo, they ended up get attack on several occasions during the War.


Blue Ocean Mine Accident:

On late night of March 9, 1942, Blue Island struct a mine near Scotland, and sank in only half an hour.

This accident caused a concern for the Line in thinking of suspending until the war was over, but more and more civilians were evacuating from Britain, so Blue Island continued.


Green Ocean Torpedo Accident:

On the early morning of May 1st, 1943, Green Island was struck by a Torpedo by a German Submarine around Dublin.

The sinking was considered to be done on purpose, but after WW2, in records surround the Submarine had fired on the wrong ship.

Apparently, the Sub had been given ordered to sink a ship, with a similar appearance. The ordered ship was unnamed, but it was a Four-Funnel Liner, very similar in design to Green Ocean.

With these accidents, Blue Island suspended operations until the war ended.

Ship Of The Line:

1st Ship: RMS Blue Ocean: Launched: March 9th, 1928. Status: Sank by colliding with a mine by Scotland, March 9, 1942.

2nd Ship: RMS Green Ocean: Launched: March 9th, 1928. Status: Sank by German Submarine, on May 1st, 1943.
