FANTASY AU: Liquido x Kalina

>>>>>>>Liquido's POV>>>>>>>

🌊SPLASH~!

"Whoo~ haha! Yeah!"

"Sweet moves, brah!"

"Oh, I ain't done, yet! Watch this!"

SPLOSH/FWOOM!

I take my board and ride ahead of the others before turning to the top of this ginormous wave.

TWIRL!

💦SPLASH—SPLASH!💦

"Awesome/Gnarly!"

I make a three-point landing after an epic round-a-bout turn in midair.

FSSH~

We surf our way back to the Floating Stadium. Now walking on the docks, we see our coach, Del Aqua, heading towards us.

"Nice of you to come back. After two hours."

"Sorry, coach," I chuckle, "so, what's up?"

"Did you already forget? Supa Strikas will be arriving tomorrow. With the storm coming in three days, it's best if they stay at the Floating Stadium until our game next week."

"Yeah, yeah, I got it."

"Behave yourself, Liquido. That goes for the rest of you."

"We will."

"Besides, we'll be, like, too busy placing bets on how long before he and North duke it out."

"Again."

I roll my eyes.

"Yes, I'm fully aware of their bitter rivalry, but Supa Strikas are our guests. Like it or not, Liquido, you will have to get along with North. At least be decent when Coach and I are around. I want no trouble of any kind. Do you understand?"

Del Aqua's always scolding me every time I go up against North. Now I have to see that yellow sponge for an entire week? As if this wasn't punishment enough.

"Fine~...I'll try."

"Close enough. Now, let's all get ready."

We follow coach into one of the airlocks.

>>>>>>>TONIGHT [7:25 pm]>>>>>>>

After dinner, I hang out with my bros in the lounge room. I'm drinking some juice while my friends keep talking.

"Dude, I don't believe for even a second, that Liquido will last for a day."

"Real funny, cap'."

"But it's true, man. Like, I know North's your archrival and all, but...why are you guys so...so, uh..."

"Hostile, Shane. The word you're looking for is hostile."

"Yeah, that."

"Guys, will you relax. I can totally handle myself not to go overboard."

"Are you speaking metaphorically, or like, literally going overboard with a head-to-head surf contest?"

"Does it matter?"

I scoff as I put my drink down.

"Whatever. I'm gonna walk around then hit the sack."

"Sure thing, brah."

"See ya tomorrow."
