"Mr. Kim" the secretary walked up to Taehyung's desk and placed a giant stack of documents in front of him "You have a meeting tonight with the store managers from America, Germany, and India."
Taehyung glanced down at the papers "No can do" he shook his head "I have plans already."
His secretary sighed "Sir, this is important. You need to discuss what the next step is going to be for the company..." he walked out, leaving Taehyung to look over the documents.
His phone started to ring "Hello?"
"Dad!" his son spoke happily "Are you free for lunch, I was thinking we can go visit dad today?"
Taehyung smiled softly "Drop by the office and we can go together" he stood up "Is your sister coming too?"
"Of course she is, she never misses a lunch with you"
"I'll see you guys in a bit" He smiled, the call ending.
Taehyung gathered his things, stopping to stare at a picture he had of Jimin sitting on his desk. He smiled and continued on his way.
He got down to the lobby to see both his children standing there waiting. He looked down to see his granddaughter clinging to her mother. The little girl smiled and rushed over to Taehyung.
"How has my little moonbeam been?" Taehyung smiled and lifted her.
"Mommy says we're seeing grandpa Minie today" the little girl spoke.
Taehyung nodded "That's right Binna, did you bring the flowers?" Binna nodded and squirmed to get down.
"Mommy the flowers!" Binna demanded.
"What did I just say in the car?"
"Please...?" Binna pouted.
"Da-Som, don't scold her" Taehyung picked up Binna "Just look how cute she is!"
"Dad you spoil her too much" Da-Som frowned "She's gonna be in the fourth grade soon. She needs to start getting better with her manners."
"As cute as Binna is, she knows she can get away with anything with grandpa" his son interrupted.
"You know that's not true, right Binna? Tell uncle Min-Jun that's not true" Taehyung frowned.
Binna nodded "That's not true, uncle JunJun!"
Taehyungs children sighed.
"Where are the kids today?" Taehyung asked as he set down Binna.
Min-Jun frowned "They have entrance exams coming up soon so they're studying"
"I remember when dad used to force us to study for hours on end, then reward us with expensive food" Da-Som smiled.
Taehyung chuckled "He did keep you kids in check, if he wasn't there you guys would've been spoiled brats like Binna over here"
"Hey!" Binna huffed.
Da-Som burst out laughing "So you admit it? You spoil Binna too much"
Taehyung shook his head "Let's go before Min-Jun's lunch is over" they all nodded. Taehyung stopped at a nearby store and bought a bouquet of red roses. Taehyung got back into the car, the atmosphere silent.
"You okay, grandpa TeTe?" Binna asked. She placed her small hand over his to try and comfort him.
The car ride was silent the rest of the way. They drove right outside of Seoul where a small cemetery sat. Taehyung hesitated to get out of the car.
"It's okay dad, take all the time you need" Min-Jun smiled "C'mon Binna, let's go pay our respects to grandpa."
Taehyung sat in the car gripping the bouquet of roses. He felt tears started to fall. Taehyung fiddled with the diamond ring that dangled on the chain around his neck. He didn't want to go a day without wearing it. He finally mustered up the courage and wiped his tears away. He got out of the car, grabbing the bundle of roses.
Binna ran over to help Taehyung walk toward the others. His children moved aside, Da-Som wiping her tears away.
"Do you want some alone time?" Da-som asked. Taehyung nodded. She grabbed Binna and started to walk away with Min-Jun.
Taehyung placed the red roses in front of the headstone. Even though it had already been a year since Jimin had passed, visiting him never got easier for Taehyung.
"We've lived quite the life haven't we?" Taehyung whispered. The two adopted Min-Jun and Da-Som when they were in their thirties. They started their own little family and made sure to live the happiest life they possibly could. Taehyung ran a hand through his hair "We promised to stay together till we were both old and grey, but even at the end of it all I was the only one who turned grey" he chuckled.
Taehyung wasn't ready for Jimin to go so soon, but life had other plans. They weren't exactly the youngest anymore.
A light breeze sent a chill through Taehyungs body "I hope you're doing well. I'll find you in the next life too. I love you, Minie" he felt a warm hand touch his back. He swung around to see if someone was behind him but no one was there. The hand felt familiar and warm, it was comforting.
"I'll see you soon, my love" Taehyung smiled, and he started to cry. Binna ran over to Taehyung and hugged him.
"Don't cry grandpa TeTe, grandpa Minie hated when your cried" Binna reminded.
"You're right, Binna. We promised grandpa Minie we'll always smile" Taehyung smiled, tears still falling.
"Come on dad, let's go to that restaurant dad used to work at" Min-Jun smiled.
"Let's invite uncle Kook" Da-Som suggested.
"Let's get a big cake!" Binna grinned.
The group got back into the car. Taehyung couldn't help but feel like even though most of his friends and Jimin were gone they were all watching over him.
To know Jimin wasn't alone up there put Taehyung at ease.
They kept their promise to each other, they stayed together till they were old and grey.
