Chapter 2: A rescue

(A/N: Alright, time to make this official. This story along with a couple other sample stories are going to become full stories. I currently don't have an update schedule so this will just be updated when I get a chapter done. I hope you enjoy!)

Me and Izumi were sitting a booth, I was drinking a milkshake as Izumi was going through her notebook, explaining all of the different heroes she had recorded in it.

She looked so excited to talk to someone who could understand her even through her muttering. "And today the hero, Mt Lady, debuted. She kind of stole Kamui Wood's thunder by taking out the villain but it was pretty cool even if watching made me a bit late to school. Oh! I forgot to ask, what school are you going to?"

"Actually, I'll be going to Aldera. Me and my dad only just moved here so I haven't had the chance to attend class. Who knows, if we're lucky, we might have the same classes."

She looked very excited about that. "Oh and what quirk do you have? I saw you use it earlier but I couldn't tell what it was."

"I have a quirk similar to my dad's. He has a stockpile quirk and when I got mine, it began manifesting in a ton of different forms. I can use the energy that gets stockpiled to fly, enhance my strength and summon black tendrils from my hand." I lifted my hand up and showed her.

She was writing everything down in a new journal at lightning speeds and I even heard her muttering about possible uses and other ways the energy could be manifested in. I just drank my shake and let her finish when a sudden explosion went off nearby.

I immediately got up and put money on the table before running out of the cafe with Izumi following behind. When I got outside, I saw smoke coming from an alleyway and ran over to see what's happening.

When I got there, the buildings were all on fire with that same sludge villain from before holding someone hostage. 'Damnit dad. I told you to stop rushing when you're at the end of your time limit.'

Izumi was next to me freaking out until she saw who was captured by the villain. The next thing I knew, she was running headlong into danger like her life depended on it. 'Damnit!' I ran after her to make sure she didn't do anything that might get her killed.

As I ran past the line of people, Deatharms tried to stop me. "Kid stop! If you go in, you'll die!"

I watched as Izumi threw her bag at the villain and hit him in the eyes as she began to try to pull the guy out of the slime. When I saw the villain about to attack her after recuperating, I broke away from Deatharms and ran in using my quirk.

I grabbed Izumi with one arm and punched the villain with the other as I used Blackwhip to stop the guy from going flying away.

Izumi POV

I was preparing myself to be killed for trying to save Kacchan. The slime villain was about to hit me with an explosion and I figured this was the end so I closed my eyes. But then I felt someone. Someone had wrapped their arm around me then I felt a strong gust of wind.

I slowly opened my eyes and saw Izuku there and he was keeping me safe. I looked over and saw that Kacchan was wrapped up in that back wispy stuff that Izuku showed me before.

The slime villain was splattered all over. "You okay Izumi?"

"Uh y-yeah. Thank you."

After getting yelled at by Deatharms, I began to walk home with Izuku following. I was thinking about how useless I was and how I was just a liability.

Izuku seemed to notice. "Izumi, what's wrong?"

"I... I'm just weak. I couldn't do anything to help."

Izuku walked in front of me and stopped, grabbing my shoulders. "Izumi that's enough. You can't keep putting yourself down. You are going to be an amazing hero and I'll be there to help you the whole way. Alright?"

I was beginning to cry a bit but I nodded. "Thank you."

Izuku POV

I brought Izumi home to let her rest after everything that had happened today. I gave her my address and told her to come over tomorrow since it was the weekend and she could talk to All Might then, and my number in case she wanted to talk.

I arrived at my house and found dad was home. He was in the kitchen preparing dinner as I walked in. "Hey dad."

"Ah, son. Welcome home. So you made a friend today?"

"Yeah. I decided to take my walk over to the school since it was almost time for them to be let out for the day. And as I was passing by..." I told him how I ended up meeting Izumi.

Dad looked upset with what he heard her go through. He told me about how he was quirkless and how he was treated. He was always scared I might be quirkless too, because he didn't want me to go through the same thing, but he was happy I wasn't.

He wanted to take Izumi under his wing even more like how his master took him under her wing. Teach her everything he knows about One for All. Help her to possibly defeat All for One.

"I'll be there too, dad. I'm always going to be there for her."

"Oh so you have a crush on her." Dad smiled at me as I brushed it off.

I went up to my room after dinner and sat at my desk. I began working on my computer when I got a call. Looking at my phone, I saw it was mom. "Hey mom. How are you doing over in America?"

"Izuku! I'm good. Once I finish my work here, me and your sister will be able to move over to Japan and live with you and your dad. How have you been, honey?"

I told mom about my day and everything that happened.

"Aww, my baby boy is growing up! You've gotten your first crush!"

"Mooom!" I groan into the phone as I hit my head against my desk.

"Okay okay. I need to go now. I love you, Izuku!"

"Love you mom." I went back to working on my computer, thinking about tomorrow.

Izumi POV

After Izuku walked me home and gave me his address and his number, he left. As I walked in, I heard my mother in the kitchen making food. "Izumi? Is that you?"

"Yeah mom." I took off my shoes and put on my house shoes. I went upstairs and changed before going back down to see how things were going.

"Izumi, can you come here?" I heard mom call from the kitchen so I walked in.

"Yeah mom? What's wrong?"

"I saw you on the news earlier. Want to tell me what that was all about?"

I nervously scratched the back of my head. "U-uh, I saw that Kacchan was in trouble and none of the heroes were saving him so I just kinda... ran in."

"And that boy with you?"

"H-he's just someone I met at school. We became friends." Mom smiled at me and we ate dinner as I thought about what was going to happen tomorrow.
