Izuku POV
I was standing outside of Izumi's house, nervous to meet her mother. I was looking over myself, making sure nothing was wrong before knocking on the door.
I stepped back from the door, hearing footsteps on the other side before the door opened, revealing... 'b-beautiful...'
Izumi opened the door, dressed up with makeup and her hair pulled back into a ponytail. "I-Izuku! Uh, c-come in, dinner is almost done!"
She gave me a nervous smile as I stepped inside and took my shoes off at the door. Walking into the living room, I saw one of Izumi's hero journals open with the hero news open on her phone next to it. I couldn't help but smile seeing it.
"Have a set on the couch!" I heard a woman from the kitchen shout so did so. The voice sounded kind of familiar but I couldn't place it.
Izumi sat back down where she was sitting and we sat there for a minute, not saying anything. "Uhh, so... whats for dinner?" I asked, finally breaking the silence.
"M-mom is making her famous katsudon."
"Sounds good..." I sat there, fiddling with my fingers, nervous about what her mom will think of me.
Before I began to spiral into a torrent of different situations where she hates me, the woman in question came into the room. "Okay, dinner is ready. Head to the table."
I nodded, getting up and taking a seat. "So, you're Izuku Yagi?"
"Yes ma'am. I-it's a pleasure to meet you, ma'am."
"Oh, calm down. You don't need to be nervous. I'm Nemuri Kayama. I'm Izumi's adoptive mother."
I stopped when I heard that. "A...adoptive?"
She nodded. "A few years ago, Izumi's mother died in a villain attack. Her name was Inko Midoriya. We were close friends growing up so when I heard what happened, I refused to let her daughter, the one thing she cared about most, go through the system and have an uncertain future."
"I-I didn't know. Izumi, I'm sorry."
Izumi was whipping stray tears from her eyes. "No, it's okay."
I nodded. "So, Ms Kayama, you're Midnight?" I asked, taking a bite of my food. 'Mmm, good food.'
"Oh, so you know about me. Well, it seems I have a bit of a fan~." She leaned over the table, showing off her sizable... uh.
I began to blush. "Mom, can you please not?"
She laughed. "Okay, okay. So, Izuku, you've been helping Izumi in training to be a hero?"
"Yeah. She has what it takes to be a great hero. But she doubts herself a lot, so I just wanted to show her that."
Izumi began to blush. "Oh, you two are so cute together."
I began to blush. "W-we aren't dating!"
"Who said anything about dating~." Izumi hid her face in her hands. "So, you have your father's quirk?"
"Y-yes ma'am."
"So, you have your father's quirk, and suddenly, Izumi, after meeting you, gets a quirk just like it. Mind explaining that one?"
I didn't know what to say. I looked at Izumi but she seemed to be at a loss for words. "I... uh, do you mind if I call my dad really quick?"
She smiled and nodded, seeming to know she was going to get her answer one way or another. I got up and walked into another room, dialing dad's number. "Hello? Izuku, what's up?"
"Dad... Izumi's mom, she's Midnight. And she wants to know how Izumi got her quirk that is so similar to yours and mine."
Dad was silent for a second. "*sigh* Go ahead and tell her. I should have know this would happen."
I hung up and walked back into the room before sitting back down. "So... uh..."
"Yes? You have something to tell me?"
"Well... you see... All Might's quirk is... uh... special." I looked at her and she was leaning her head on her hand, waiting. "His quirk is called One for All. It's a quirk that gets passed down from generation to generation. And now, Izumi has it."
Kayama looked over at Izumi who nodded. "Well, I just wish you would have told me sooner."
Izumi looked down. "S-sorry mom."
Kayama wrapped her arm around Izumi. "It's okay. Just be sure to tell me next time something like this happens, okay?" Izumi nodded and Kayama looked at me. "So, Izuku, tell me about yourself."

Izumi POV
After Izuku left, I breathed a sigh of relief that it went well. "He's a nice boy. I approve of him."
I began to blush like crazy. "M-mom!"

Izuku POV
After dinner and saying goodbye to Izumi and her mother, I began walking home. After a bit, I used float to try and get home a bit faster. All of a sudden, I felt danger sense go off for a split second before it was cut off and I began to fall. "What the fuck?!"
Before I could fall too far, I was caught in a graying, tattered scarf. "Izuku Yagi, I've got some questions for you."
"Of for fucks sake. Really Eraserhead? Now?" The tightening of the scarf was all I needed as affirmation. "Ugh, fine."
"What is your relation to Izumi Midoriya?"
"Best friends and training buddies."
"What do you know about her quirk?"
"She's a late bloomer and got a stockpile quirk that had been building energy since she was born so when she got it, she would have nearly killed herself if she used it so I've been helping her to get better with it due to my quirk being similar in nature."
Aizawa seemed to be studying me for a second. "Anything you aren't telling me?"
"Izumi is a huge nerd when it comes to quirks. Her favorite color is, surprisingly, blue. She likes to cuddle with a plushie at night. She mutters a lot of things she doesn't mean to say. She-"
"Alright, enough. Get home. And don't use your quirk. It's still illegal without a license."
He dropped me from his scarfs grip and I managed to land pretty well, not getting hurt. I looked up at the rooftop where he was and saw he was already gone. Shrugging of the encounter, began my trek home again. "Still wish I was that plushie though."
