"it's been eight months already?" yeonjun questions shocked as beomgyu nods , washing the dishes at his sink while the elder just sits at the table eating.

"and how is it with you and taehyun?" yeonjun asks curiously , mouth full of rice and meat.

"okay i guess?" beomgyu says , scrubbing a dish and yeonjun raises a brow slightly.

"just okay?" he asks as the boy sighs heavily.

"i mean yeah , it's good..." he says trying to convince himself but he knows something has been off about taehyun lately.

taehyun is literally everything he could wish for and more... yet there's an itching feeling inside him, it's telling him something just doesn't feel right.

"it's okay beomgyu.. i've seen the way you two still look at each other" taehyun whispers and beomgyu shakes his head.

"but i've got you taehyun... that's all that matters to me right now..." he says as taehyun shakes his head slowly , gently taking his hand away from the boy's.

"no beomgyu... you two have history , you've got chemistry. i was just the distraction , an impulsive decision... but it's okay! i want you to be happy... besides... i've always felt like i just stepped in between the two of you anyways" he says in a small rant and beomgyu sighs heavily.

"i don't want to leave you though. whether this was planned or not... you're really important to me" beomgyu says sadly as taehyun smiles lightly , pressing a small kiss to his cheek.

"i think i'm important in a platonic way... but if he ever breaks your heart again. let me know.. but that time round , maybe it'll actually be love" he says , smiling to beomgyu warmly before turning around and leaving the place.

beomgyu sits down on a swing , completely puzzled. he thought that him and taehyun were meant to be , but why doesn't he feel so sad , like his whole world just crumbled into a billion pieces? he thought a breakup would hurt much more.

maybe it's because they'll be friends... or maybe it's because they're meant to be just friends? beomgyu swings lightly , mind overthinking everything as usual.

"can i sit down?" he hears a voice he hasn't heard is so long , yet he never forgot.

"yeah" he nods his head as the black-haired boy sits down on the swing beside him , both of them looking out at the skatepark that's covered in a comforting blanket of darkness.

he looks over to him , and he seems to look even prettier basked in the pale moonlight , a gently breeze blowing his hair a little , beomgyu is totally mesmerized by him.

"i'm sorry about what happened with soobin. i thought i loved him... but it wasn't love" kai speaks up as beomgyu listens closely.

kai looks over to him , beomgyu's chest tightening at the sparks that he can feel electrify his whole body. is this the feeling of true love? or just unrequited love again? all he knows... is that it's certainly not soemthing he felt with taehyun.

"i was too scared to admit my feeling for you beomgyu. i mean imagine the damage it would have on our friendship... especially if you'd have rejected me and felt awkward about it. or imagine what would happen if we were to breakup... wouldn't that hurt like hell? that's why i tricked myself into thinking i have feelings for soobin... but i actually never did. i never will. you've always been the one i liked... i was a coward and a dick for hurting you like that. i know i don't deserve it but please... please forgive me beomgyu" kai rants as beomgyu's eyes widen.

he's hot with a string feeling of nostalgia as his eyes meet kai's , everything from the past coming back. it's only now , in this moment , that he's sure that this is what his heart had been craving these past months.

"i... i forgive you" he whispers quietly , looking down as he starts playing with the sleeves of his hoodie.

kai stands up and beomgyu instantly follows his action without any thought. he looks to the taller boy , who looks down at him with a soft look in his eyes , the moonlight making his hair even more gorgeous than he remembers it to be.

"i love you beomgyu... and i'm sorry you didn't know this sooner..." he says as the elder boy blushes deeply , heart jumping out of his chest as a feeling of excitement and hope washes over him.

kai presses his lips to the boy , holding him tightly in his arms as the other boy instantly kisses back. he's never felt goosebumps like these since the drunk kiss they've shared before , but this time he knows it's real... and kai really does love him back...
