In eyesight to see, he never expected Kokichi to be able to carry anything gentle, his point of view on things is either destructive or ignorant.
Yet, here he is witnessing him rocking the baby, back and forth, making soft shushing noises to keep her quiet and Shuichi couldn't tell if Kokichi was either mocking them or enjoying himself with her.
Everyone in the room was quiet, clearly shocked to see the little girl had stopped crying and was now staring at Kokichi smiling.
"Hello, little one" He heard Kokichi voice sweetly, leaning in to show her the softest, most genuine expression Shuichi had ever seen in his life.
"These people stressed you out real badly didn't they?" He whispered, and he didn't know whether the baby agreed but he could make a guess she wasn't upset by Kokichi's words.
Shuichi heard some grunting in the background, which was upset by the lack of words Kokichi described in the previous situation. He grinned and continued with, "Nee-hee but don't worry the Ultimate Supreme Leader is here at your service" It was obvious he copied the remark from Kirumi but Shuichi didn't have the mind to call him out.
Rather, his heart skipped a beat at the sight of Kokichi, who never showed this side of himself. For the first time in this academy, Kokichi seemed to be the calmest here, not showing wickedness but temperate, his soft smile and the way he's holding her warmed his heart for some reason.
Noticing the others, he caught some of them with shocking faces as they witnessed Kokichi take up all the work without complaining while the rest were a little unhappy that they weren't the ones able to make the small one-stop crying.
Kokichi appeared to attempt to make her fall asleep by rocking the baby slowly since all that crying might have made her tired and after some minutes of silence, the newborn fell asleep in Kokichi's arms.
Some of them skimmed at each other and the individual to speak first was none other than Kokichi himself who had a grinning expression.
"Awwe Look how cute she is, hey check it out, everybody!" Each of them flinched at Kokichi's words and started freaking out, not comfortable being called out. They waited for the outburst the baby will make seeing as when Tenko complimented her, she went into full tears.
But instead, they received nothing but a soft snore from her, and Shuichi could just stare dumbfounded.
Kokichi gazed at all of them and rolled his eyes as he looked back down at the newborn, "Sorry little one, guess these AWFUL people don't wanna see your adorable face, huh?" He dramatically whispered, which earned some glares from some of them.
"Of course, you're going to be acting the same way," He heard Tenko angrily say, he thought to himself about the situation but couldn't say much to defend it, the baby seemed to like Kokichi a lot, and they should be grateful he was able to comfort her down.
He noticed the baby move around, seemly bothered by the purple blanket that was wrapped around her, and Kokichi caught it, "Don't worry, I got you little nugget." He said, offering her a small smile, and withdrawing half the blanket off her.
Her soft yawning made everyone stare in awe.
"She's so cute, how unfair..."
"Pfft, Nugget are you serious?"
"Shut it pig-brain"
"EEP"
"I do wonder though," He saw Tsumugi coming up, looking a bit wary about the whole thing, "How did you manage to make her quiet down?"
That question drove some of them to join in the conversation, all wanting to know the same thing.
"Yea, I don't believe a degenerate male was able to make her calm down" Tenko scoffed, folding her arms together, and looking away from the sight.
