"Do you want me?" You sighed, not knowing anymore. "I do but I don't know if this is a good time," You replied, "We're both so awkward about it you know?" "Then it can wait till some other time," He replied, moving off of you. You grabbed his wrist, "When is there a better time?" He shrugged, "We'll see." He left your room quietly, closing the door behind him. You went to turn over but was stopped at more knocking at the door, "Come in," You said, fixing yourself. Bruno walked in, a small smile on his face as he took a seat next to you. "So you and Leone? Anything?" You shook your head, "Nothing, just friends." "Do friends makeout in the kitchen? We don't makeout," He teased, "We could if you want," You said sarcasticslly but he took it seriously. "Let's do it then," He said with a small shrug, "What's the worst that could happen? We get caught?" Your face heated up, tinting to a dark red. "Aha Bruno I didn't mean it like that.." You said quietly, he tilted your chin up to see your face. "You didn't mean it because you didn't think I'd be willing to right?" "Y-Yeah.." He let go, looking away.

You laid beside Bruno again, not saying a word to each other as he held you close. "Who do you like more?" "Bruno that's a bad question; I don't like anyone like that." He sighed a little, not saying anything else. "Why did you come here again Bruno?" "I just needed some love." You looked up at him, he looked so distant yet he was right there with you. "Are you feeling okay?" He didn't say anything, just closed his eyes. "Bruno?" He sighed a little, "Don't tell anyone, I wanted to just handle it alone," He said quietly, "My dad died today, all alone in a hospital. I wasn't there and he wasn't even at home where he loved to be. I feel so guilty for not being there for him in his last moments." You watched his a single tear fell from those sapphire eyes of his, not sure how to help. "Bruno, you didn't know it was going to happen. We couldn't have stopped it," You said quietly, feeling his hold on you becoming tighter. You sat him up, pulling him into a hug. He nuzzled into your shoulder as his body started to wreck with sobs from the man you had always seen as so strong. "I just wanted a little more time with him," He cried out quietly, "Just a couple more days would've been fine, I just wanted time." You rubbed his back with your hands, trying to comfort him as he cried. "Will you come with tomorrow? I have to pick up the stuff I left there for him," He asked shakily, "Of course I will Bruno, we can go get some food after too to help." "Thanks Y/N."

You felt Bruno stir beside you. You were still awake, making sure he'd get some sleep and wouldn't be disturbed. You sat up though as you sat on your phone, just looking through some photos. You stopped at the one of his father, himself, and yourself from when you guys left for sophomore year. He shifted onto his side so he was facing away from you, you slowly stood up, leaving to go to the bathroom.

You creaked open the door, splashing some water from the sink in your face after you closed it behind you. You glanced up at the mirror, looking away rather fast. You used the restroom, quickly retreating back to your room.

Opening the door, you were shocked to see no one in your bed anymore. You looked around the room; the closet, under your bed, behind the door, etc. Bruno was no where to be found. You heard a door close in the hallway, so you assumed he probably left to go to his own room. You sighed a little, feeling bad but you didn't want to invade if he wanted to be alone.

Next morning

You yawned as you organized the dessert shelves at work. They gave you the opening shift instead of a closing one which only happened once in a blue moon. You smiled at your first customer of the day, serving them a simple black coffee, watching them leave. Over the next hour or so, more people came in, some staying, some leaving. You looked over at a groggy Formaggio who had just entered, shocked to see you. "Woah. I thought you only worked at night?" "I thought you only came at night??" He smiled a little, "Nah, I come in morning for coffee and at night for tea. It's my routine." You gave a small smile, "Seems like you just want to see me as much as you can," You teased. He shrugged a little, "Wouldn't mind it, if anything I'd want to see you more than just this." You blushed a little, glancing away for a second. "Well what did you want to drink then?" You asked, changing the subject. "Just black coffee and a donut." You nodded, "For here?" He nodded, "You got it bella," You gulped a little, just entering the order into the register. "7.50.." You said quietly, a little flustered. He gave you the money, going to sit at his usual spot.

You stretched as you clocked out, waving to your coworker who had just came in the door. "Ciao Y/N," She said as you left with a smile. Formaggio once again walked you home after debating it with you for a little bit, you tried to ignore him but simply couldn't, he was too nice to ignore. "Y/N, a new restaurant opened over by my place the other day," He commented, "Maybe you could go check it out with me and some of my friends." You looked over with a little smirk, "Are you asking me out on a date Formaggio?" He shook his head, "Never ever." You jokingly gasped, he laughed a little, "You can think that if you want, I'll just always deny it." You smiled, "I can do Saturday evening if that's good," You replied, stepping onto the porch. "Sounds good, how does 5 sound? I'll pick you up." "5 is perfect." You both smiled and waved to each other as you walked inside.

"Bruno, when did you want to go?" You asked quietly, sitting on the love seat in the living room. He looked down at his watch, "Let's go now before I go to work later," He replied standing up, "I'll drive."

You walked in the hospital with him, standing behind him at the reception desk. "Oh, I'm sorry for your loss sir." Bruno bit his lip, still following the lady to the room."

You looked up to see him other members from the Bucciarati family, the receptionist leaving you with them. "Ah Bruno, you finally came to see your dad," Some snarky woman said, "He probably died of heartbreak from not seeing his poor son for so long." "Yeah, your dad died all by himself because you were to incompetent to come visit him." Another person said. "And you bring a girl with? She for you to cry on?" "Couldn't come see your dad once since you probably with her all the time." These comments continued, you eventually grabbed his hand and pulled him from the room, leaving behind the family and room. "I didn't get my stuff." "We'll go back in when they leave." He didn't say anything, he just stared at the floor of the waiting room.

About 20 minutes went by and they finally left, all casting glares snd whispering as they left the hospital. You both walked back to the room. You went to grab a note that wasn't there before, assuming it was written by the family that had just visited, but he beat you to it. He read through it, eventually crumbling it and throwing it out. You helped grab some of the flowers, leaving after a few minutes. You glanced back as he stopped, watching him walk back. He came back after a minute or so, walking with you to the car. "The funeral is Sunday morning," He said quietly as he drove to the restaurant you two had agreed on before going to the hospital, "Did you want to come?" He asked, you nodded. "I would love to."

You walked back in the house. Dinner and the ride home were silent, a deafening silence. You looked around, everyone but Giorno and Trish were downstairs. "Guido, have you seen Trish?" He shrugged, "Oh! Giorno and her went somewhere earlier, they haven't come back yet," Narancia piped in. Oh that's right, I forgot they were going to get plants. "Oh thanks Narancia," You said with a smile. You left for your room. You sat down on your bed, pulling out a book to read until Trish came home. You thought of tomorrow; your little date with Leone. You sighed to yourself, preparing yourself for the oncoming day.

the book is going to get dark very soon :)
