𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙣...
I speed up through the almost deserted streets and feel the adrenaline running through my veins when I start to make the curves of the slight plateau in the region. From up here I could see the city lights, getting ready for the night.
Devil's Night definitely still shakes this place. I've heard stories of what it was like at the time of my parents, and now it's our turn to turn Thunder Bay upside down.
The guy tied up in my trunk seems to be coming back to consciousness and I hear some noises. My fingers rotate the panel button gently until the music is so loud that I can't even hear it anymore.
If I could close my eyes now and just enjoy the anticipation vibe... Fuck, I feel alive.
I give the command and the car system makes the call. One, two, three touches. Pick up, you little shit, there's no other person I would do that with.
— What is it? — Finally my cousin's voice echoes through the Porsche.
— Where are you? — I ask by pulling a cigarette out of my wallet.
— I'm going out, Ivar. Whatever it is... — he starts but I interrupt.
— I'm at your place — I park in a dark corner close to the Mori's Mansion.
Madden snorts and curses me before hanging up in my face. But he's coming anyway.
Rotate the lighter gear with my thumb and light the cigarette, swallowing before massaging the temples. The idiot back there started to get agitated, which means I'll have to deal with it while I wait for Mads.
I open my car's door and slam it, which makes him quiet for a moment. Yeah man, you've pissed me off. I open the trunk and he struggles pathetically. I rip the gag I've made with tape and he screams.
Son of a bitch.
Good for him, he notices that's not the best ideia when my fist hits his nose and blood runs through his cheeks. Some ashes from cigarette between my teeth fall all over him. And since I don't have much time, I decide it's enough. I put the tape again with a slap that leaves my rings mark at the side of his face and slam the door.
I recline against the car finishing my cigarette while Madden comes out of the house walks toward me. He's wearing the same turtleneck shirts, but the weirdo has built some muscles since I last saw him. I throw it on the asphalt and rub with my sneaker to make sure it's done and take my driver seat.
Madden also takes his without giving any sight of his emotions, if he's mad at me for changing his plans or if doesn't even care.
— Gonna bother to tell me where we're goin or? — he asks.
I smile.
— We're gonna have some fun, Mads.

— And people say I'm the physco one — Madden snorts a laugh and I can't help but smile too.
I think people been scared of him since the boy said first words.
— That's why I had to call you, cousin — I poke.
— Bro if you're thinking I'm gonna kill Indie's boyfriend for you, you're so mistaken.
— What? No man! We're just going to scare the shit out of him.
— Good, because I don't do this shit anymore — but what the hell is he talking about? Fucking weirdo.
But he's still the one I would call to help me bury a body out, and that has nothing to do with his physco fame.
Indie's boyfriend face starts moving slightly so I throw Mads a mask while place my own. He blinks a few times and notices that now is tied to a chair.
— Welcome to Devil's Night, Jason.
