I sat at one of the tables alone at lunch. It was the first day back after Xmas. I didn't have a load of friends. I wanted to eat my lunch as fast as I could and get out of the busy cafeteria. "But as long as your into band or science," One of the students Eddie Munson got up on his table walking across it looking at different tables, "Or parties. Or a game where you throw balls into laundry baskets!" "You want something freak!" The basketball captain stood up. Eddie made a face of some sort of D and D character to annoy the boys. It made me laugh quite a bit. Eddie looked over at me and smiled. Eddie turned round and ran back to the other end of the table then jumping down, "That's what's killing the kids!" I laughed even more. Then Eddie sat back down and there wasn't anything more to laugh at. I looked back down at my food and continued to eat. "Hey Y/N," Chrissy came and sat at my table. "Hey Chrissy," I smiled. "How was your Xmas?" Chrissy gave me a friendly smile. "Good," I smiled. "So Eddie smiled at you," She crossed her arms. "Ye," I nodded. "Well, are you gonna do anything about it?" Chrissy smiled. "I'd love to but I don't know," I shrugged my shoulders. "Hey ladies," Eddie came over to our table. "Hey Eddie," I spoke quietly. "Hi," He smiled sweetly, "Y/N, would you like to meet me in the woods later after school?" "Like a date?" I asked. "If you want it to be," Eddie smirked. "Ye! That would be nice," I nodded. "See you later darling," Eddie walked off. "Oh my god," I whispered and leaned back on my chair. "Did you seriously just get a date on your first day back. Like your first date?" Chrissy asked and I nodded. She was so happy for me.
After school I was out of the classroom door. I put up the hood on my hoodie and ran down the hall gripping onto the straps of my backpack. I made it into the woods and found a bench. There were initials on a tree. EM. I assumed this was where we were meeting. I put my hand on the tree feeling the bark. I then got a spider on me. I started to shake my hand and move backwards and I bumped into someone. "Argh!" I screamed. "Hey. Hey," Eddie spoke softly, "Are you okay?" "Ye," I held onto my arms and smiled. "Sorry," Eddie apologised. "No! It's okay," I assured him. Eddie walked over to the bench and sat down. I then did the same. He took off his Jacket and put it on the table, "If you want to we could go somewhere else instead of staying here." "No. I like it here. It's nice," I took down my hood. "You have a tattoo," Eddie pointed to my neck. "Ye!" I pulled back my hair to show him it. It was a word that had been tattooed on just small enough to hide it with my hair. "Harrington," Eddie read out. "Ye! I have mine on my neck and my brother has his on his arm," I explained, "I convinced him to." "I was gonna say that's not something that thee Steve Harrington would suggested," Eddie but emphasis on the Thee. "I know," I giggled. "You ever had a boyfriend before?" Eddie asked. "Errrmmm," I sighed. "No! Don't tell me you have never had one," Eddie was shocked, "How? Your the most beautiful girl in school." "People have said to me before that I was beautiful but they were jerks," I explained. "And I'm not?" Eddie asked. "I guess so," I grinned. "How about you? Many girlfriends," I asked him. "Oh! To many to count," Eddie jumped up off the bench and jumped around being sarcastic, "Do you want to go to the video store and rent out a movie?" "Sure," I got up.
We went into the video story and I immediately saw my brother at the counter. "Hey Steve," I grinned. I jumped over the counter to hug him. "You have to stop jumping the counter," Steve complained. "Sorry," I jumped back over. "Your a hugger," Eddie grinned. "What you looking for this time Y/N?" Robin came out from the back. "How about Labyrinth?" I asked Eddie. "Sounds good," Eddie nodded. "Okay! I'll go get it for you," Robin left the desk. "You wait in the car Eddie. I'll be right out," I told him. "Okay!" He nodded and left. Once Eddie left the building Steve grabbed my arm and pulled me closer towards the counter, "What are you doing with Eddie the freak Munson?" "Hanging out," I stated the obvious, "Steve you gotta stop stressing." Steve let me go, "Just be careful okay, you have my number." "Steve! He's not going to try and kill me like Billy attempted to!" I yelled at him. Steve looked at me in a way that he could tell I was sad in myself from what I just said. "Here you go Y/N," Robin passed me the tape. "Thanks Robin," I took it and then put a dollar note on the counter. "I'll be fine Steve," I then left.
