I made it to the university early. They said that you should arrive for 1 but you can arrive as early as 9. I decided to go that early just because I was so excited to have a new experience and get away from my annoying younger brother Mark. I was finally going to the drama school I had dreamt of as a kid. I was even going to be sharing a bedroom with a boy. To me that was somewhat exciting. I'd always gotten along with boys more than girls. Mark was helping with my boxes but as soon as he had dropped them off in my room he left. It was no surprise. There was nobody here yet which was a little disappointing. I started unpacking. I was first so I had first dibs on what side of the room I wanted. I chose right. There was a bunk bed that had a desk underneath, a closet and a small bathroom(To share). "No you stole right," My new roommate grinned as they entered the room. "I'm afraid so. I'm an early bird. You must be Matthew Patrick," I held out my hand, "Y/n Fishbach." "Nice to meet you," He shook my hand, "I do prefer Mat though." "Okay Mat," I grinned and went back to un packing. I set up my desk, put my clothes away, put my toiletries away and then put my play and musical posters up on the wall. "You have posters to?" Mat smiled. "Ye!" I nodded, "What's your fave." "Beetle juice," Mat decided. "Hamilton," I pointed at my Hamilton poster. "That's a good one to," Mat slowly nodded. Once I had finished unpacking I sat at my desk and span round on my spiny chair. "So your also taking the theatre course for 3 years?" I asked Mat as he was sat on his bed. "Ye! It's nice to have a room mate that's also taking it. Where are you from?" Mat asked me a question. "Britain," I pulled a little British flag from out of my desk draw, "You?" "I'm from here. California!" Mat held his arms up. "I'm going to be so clueless here. I only moved here with my family like 4 weeks ago... but I do have some things that I want to do while I'm here," I put down the flag and picked up my notebook, "I have a bucket list." "I can show you around," Mat jumped off his bed. "We have 3 hours until orientation. Let's go around the town," Mat held out his hand. "Okay," I grinned and took his hand.
We went and looked around different places in California. I was happy just to see the city because it looked so different to the uk. "Okay... first you need to try Starbucks cinnamon hot chocolate," Mat dragged me to the Starbucks. "Can I not have a tea?" I asked. "No. Your in America. I know you love tea but now and then try a more American drink or have a coffee," Mat suggested. "I do like iced coffee," I told him as we walked in. "Get that then but next time you have to get something jut a little more American," Mat looked me in the eyes. "Fine," I laughed.
The next day I was woken up by me and Mats alarm. I sat up and Mat rolled over onto the floor. "Shit!" I jumped down and ran to switch on the lights, "Are you okay?" "Ye! Im good," Mat held up a thumbs up. "What do you want for breakfast," I pulled our food box out of our closet. "Choco pebbles," Mat sat on his chair. "Coming right up!" I poured two bowls of choco pebbles and added milk. "There you go," I passed Mat his bowl and spoon. "Thanks," Mat took it gladly, "Do you want to get coffee once we've eaten?" "Sure. I feel dead. Last night I decided it would be a good Idea to watch a lot of 13 reasons Why," I sighed "Why? That's the worst show to watch at night," Mat shook his head. "I know," I giggled. We made it to our first ever class. Our first drama class. We walked in and there were quite a lot of people. Maybe up to 40. I stopped for like a second gripping my bag. "Hey. You okay," Mat put a hand on my shoulder. "There are so many people and I don't know any of them," I frowned. "Don't worry. You got me," Mat took my hand and we went to some seats. I got out my notebook and my pencil case. On the area where the teacher will teach us there was a board with a bunch of musical and movie posters on it. "Hello class and welcome to drama class. My name is Michael. Now I know this is very sudden but we will be doing a musical to see what your drama skills are like. Now we will slowly be revealing the musical by slowly taking down posters until there is one. The one we will be doing. We sat there all lesson all the class yelling hoping for there favourites to be picked until eventually Michael picked Mamma Mia. I got so excited. It's been my dream to play Sophie. "Now I already have had a member of staff take the scripts to your dorm mail boxes. Dismissed!" Michael dismissed us. Me and Mat left and ran back to our dorm. We got to the door and opened our mail box and there were two scripts and audition information. "Hello new students. This is the information you need for auditions. You shall pick one character and rehearse a scene/monologue. You can even do a song from the play. You can work alone or work with someone. That's your choice. Auditions will take place in a week. You will rehearse for the audition in class. Have fun, Michael," I read allowed as we went back in the room. "Who do you want to be?" Mat asked. "Sophie! You?" I responded. "Skye," Mat told me. "Oh my god! We could do lay all your love on me. It's the perfect combination of song dance and showing how we can play a relationship with that tense nearly kissing," I grinned. "What? You mean like this," Mat got close to my face like he was going to kiss me but didn't. "Yes," I nodded. "Okay! We have a full day of not having to do anything else now. What can we do?" I asked. "Watch mamma Mia?" Mat suggested. "Good idea," I grabbed my laptop.
The next day me and Mat booked the drama studiofor an hour and a half. It was so big. There was so much room to dance. "Howshould we start it then?" I started thinking. "How about first we get incostume," Mat Suggested
