Nova Black was dead.

Or that's what she assumed she would in a few moments or so as she watched Sirius storm right towards her from the wooden entrance of The Burrow. In the time she had known the man, never had he once lost his temper or showed any sort of angriness well except maybe his child-like hysteric tantrums. But a cold sweat broke down in the woman's already exhausted body, as she watched the red that spread through the pale of his skin, like the ink spreading through the toughened paper from a quill.

"Oh, boy" Nova spoke up in a quickened yet monotoned voice as he watched Sirius getting nearer. A throaty chuckle left from her side as the hand—which was supporting and meekly carrying most of her body weight and gripped gently around the curve of her waist tightened nonetheless. With an arched pair of brows and confusedly puckered lips, Nova looked at the face of her captor, softly she quipped, "What?"

"Well, querida you were gone for an extra four hours than the others—" he paused his hurried sentence halfway when Sirius was only two arm's lengths away. He mumbled a 'good luck' before gently nudging and pushing her forward by the palm of his hand which slowly unclasped around her waist.

Nova braced herself for the lash of scolding and reprimand which never came. She found herself stunted in a few seconded shock as she felt her body being hauled forward by a not-so-gentle pull on her elbow and pressed tightly against a comforting chest. After a brief moment, the witch's body relaxed in the constricted embrace when she felt a hand hold the back of her head as the other held her torso. But she didn't get to relax fully because with the same force that she was pulled forward, she was now pushed back to an arm's distance.

She received a light smack at the back of her head, before she could even yelp and ow Sirius's voice bellowed, "Where the hell have you been?!"

If Nova had a galleon for the number of times she was rebuked by this sentence, she was pretty sure she'd be a millionaire.

"Well, I—"

He made an agitated shushing noise as he snapped with the same tone as before, his finger pointing accusingly at the woman, "You don't get to talk."

With furrowed eyebrows, Nova quipped knowing that to answer his question she had to talk, "But you just—"

"I said" he made the same shushing noise before continuing his scolding, "You have been gone for four hours, Aaliyah. Four hours! Do you have any idea how worried we were? And you didn't respond to any of our bloody Patronus."

"Snuffs," she trailed off all the while heaving a tired breath, "I'm sorry. I am. I just, I just need some time to myself—"

A sarcastic laugh peeled off of the older man at the woman's sentence, unknowingly cutting her off mid-sentence, twirling away from the woman he passed his tattooed fingers through the smooth of his hair not believing that she had just said that.
