I guess it may surprise you
When you see me cry
You seem to think me invincible
And so for you I try
But here I am broken
And crying on the floor
For those I have been strong for
Have left me here once more
You see it was for you I tried
To prove that I was strong
But now for you I'm bleeding tears
So know I don't have long
The pain of this may kill me
But it's time now to say
That every blow I took for you
You dealt to me some way
These bruises on my knuckles
Are from when I picked you up
And scraped my hands upon the ground
As you fought against my touch
The scars along my lungs
Are from when I called your name
Hoping you would help me fight
But you never came
By far my heart is bloodiest
From being forced into submission
For it was your will I followed
As mine craved the attention
So ask again why I am crying
When you still claim your need
I guess that I am dying
But clearly, I died by following your lead
