School was so fucking boring. You couldn't pay attention at all today, something felt wrong. You twirled a pencil in one hand and just blankly stared at the board until you were dismissed, after eating lunch with Suzu and Naomi you considered ditching the next few classes and heading to the store. Which quickly I turned out that you wouldn't need to as you were being sent home.
You got into your parents care a bit baffled as to why they pulled you out of school, it was rare that this would happen.
"Did I have a doctors appointment I forgot about?" You asked confused.
"....No um, this is gonna be a bit hard to handle, but your grandfather passed away this morning." Your mother mumbled. You could hear the pain on her voice. You leaned back and let yourself process the news.
"That sucks." You mumbled.
"Is that really all you have to say about it?!" Your dad shouted.
"I'm sorry if it takes me a second to process that I just lost someone! Chill the fuck out!" You growled.
"Language!" Your mom said seemingly shocked. You sighed and propped your elbow up on the door, supporting your chin as you thought about it and sadness stung at your chest. You got home and dismissed yourself to your room to get ready for the funeral. This was really quick. Everything was progressing too fast.
You stood in the rain in front of his freshly buried grave.
"We should head home." Your dad said.
"I'd like to stay out a bit longer, I'm gonna pick up some dinner on my way home, but I might be late." You blinked.
"Okay honey, take your time." Your mom nodded.
It wasn't long before you left his grave and set up a little street performance at the edge of town as you usually did. Suzu always helped you with the performances, it was in this tiny little bar restaurant joint. You wrote your own little songs and performed every week, typically you didn't sing the aggressive ones, but you needed some way to vent so you picked the most overly aggressive and the more sexual songs that you typically don't sing. You noticed a group of peculiar men walk in. Suzu lightly elbowed you and gestured to them, made a slightly inappropriate gesture making you laugh. She suggested one of the more sexual and aggressive songs where there is literal fake moaning in it.
It was requested by multiple people who attended so you shrugged and decided it was a good song to let out some stress with. As you were performing you noticed the group was sitting in the corner and the majority drank water or soda and then the smallest of them was drinking orange juice, it was a peculiar choice and it made you laugh a little bit because you would have picked the same. The orange juice here is hand squeezed and sweetened just enough so it's still a bit bitter.
You heard the guitar start strumming and the boys attention was caught. You quickly avoided looking at them too much as you begun to perform. You continued through the entire song without a single awkward moment, at the end of it everyone who was a regular and had heard it before cheered. Your eyes drew back to the table of peculiar men and the one with orange juice looked shocked. You couldn't tell if it was good or bad. Everyone else was simply clapping and you noticed the orange haired guy turn to the smallest and whisper something to him which caused him to shove his face into his hands.
