Wrong things (Matthew x reader)

Chapter 7: Moving out

You don't know what happened but James assured you that Ezaeur left, everything was quiet for a while. Matthew and you hadn't put a label on your relations or anything, and you still hadn't slept together but you were happy and everything was normal, it had been about 6 months since the boys showed up in your house now.

Then something eventful happened. "I'm leaving." Erik said. "We have been undisturbed by the abyssal planes and angels for the past 4 months at least, and I have taken advantage of your kindness long enough princess."

You froze up. Everyone was in the room and you were stunned. "Why?" You asked.

"I felt it was time for me to adjust and do things on my own as a "human" now, but I will still visit you and I won't forget of your kindness." He smiled.

You looked at the other brothers, the majority of them looking awkward and agreeing.

"I was planning to leave too." James said.

"Yeah, I think we're good now." Sam chuckled awkwardly. You felt your heart sink and you looked to Matthew who had looked at you also a bit shocked.

"You don't have to leave. Did I do something to make you feel like you have to leave?" You asked worriedly.

"No, y/n." Damien shook his head. "We are leaving to adjust and stop living off of you, we will be fine and if we are not than I'm sure you'd be willing to take us back in."

"Of course but-"

"Matthew isn't leaving." Damien laughed. "Don't worry, he had no clue that any of us were even thinking of this."

"I don't have to leave?" Matthew said concerned.

"Of course not, we wouldn't force you to leave your girlfriend." Sam laughed.

You sighed a bit relieved. "It's gonna be quiet without you all... it'll be weird."

"I'm sure it will, but you'll still have Matthew, so you won't be alone." Damien smiled. "I know that was your biggest worry when you heard erik say he was leaving."

"....." you clasped your hands together. "You all promise to visit right? This is a big house for just two people, if you're ever having problems you are welcome to return."

"Of course, we already know that y/n." James smiled gently. "I have a parting gift."

"You didn't need to do that." You mumbled as he handed you a bundle of roses.

"It's the least I can do for you after the kindness you showed me and my brothers." He smiled.

"Aw man, you beat me to it." Erik sighed placing a candle down. The two other brothers looked at each other before placing two other gifts. Damien's was chocolates and Sam's was a small purse with something obviously inside but you were gonna wait to look in it until later.

"Thank you all, but this is super unnecessary." You said.

"No, no, we insist." Damien said. "We'll see you all later, we'll make sure to invite you when we get our own houses, for now we're gonna stay at the one Erik got."

You wanted to object but you didn't, you just watched them leave and then you and Matthew brought the gifts upstairs. You put the roses in a vase next to the bed, the chocolates next to them. You put the candle on the other nightstand and then you sat with the purse Sam got you in your hands. Matthew sat next to you.
