Pure Bliss

Chapter 3

I wake up to someone shaking me. I open my eyes and it's jake. "What's ur problem?" I grumble " Shhhh! don't wake up tash" jake whispers putting his hand over my mouth, I throw his hand off my mouth. "Just follow me." Jake pulls me out of bed and brings me to the backyard. The sun is about to rise. "What's going on jake?" I stop him from pulling me down the stairs. I'm still in a pair of boxers and a t-shirt and no shoes. " Please just trust me just once " I shouldn't trust him but I'm too curious to not follow. Jake grabs my hand again and pulls me down the stairs. The feeling of my bare feet touching the cold fluffy grass sends shivers down my spine. I love being barefoot, being able to feel the earth beneath me. I and jake keep running up the giant hill behind the Kiszka house. Running up this huge grassy hill makes me feel like a little kid again. It also makes me forget that I'm with jake and still holding his hand. We Make it to the top of the hill and I feel the sunshine warming my body. It's the most beautiful sunrise that I have ever seen. I look over to jake who is already staring at me. I blush knowing that he did this for me. " I just want to say I'm sorry and I wanted to show you that I'm not the person you think I am" I hug jake " Thank you," I say as he wraps his arms around me. I pull away but jake's hands linger on the small of my back longer than normal. "How did you know I like this kind of stuff?" I ask " Are you kidding Josh never shuts up about the stuff you and tash like" He laughs " Oh I guess ur right" I giggle. We sit on the grass and watch the sunrise. Eventually, I lay on my back and absorb the sun rays beaming onto my skin. Being in nature makes me forget about every worry in the world. I'm happiest when I'm surrounded by tree's, grass, dirt, flowers, and anything nature related. I turn to my side to see what jake is doing. He is now also laying on his back but he is facing me with his arms behind his head. The glow of the sun's rise compliments his brown eyes. Jake is only in a pair of plaid pajama pants. The wind blows and I see the hairs rise on his arms. We sit looking at each other for a few seconds too long. I break the silence and ask jake a question. "Why were you so mean last night but acting so nice now?"Jake inhaled and sits up so now he is on his elbows. "To be completely honest... I guess I was intimidated by you." He says as a small smile spreads on his face. My jaw drops and I burst into laughter. "What?" jake says laughing at me who is now crying laughing at his comment. I catch my breath and say "No one has ever been intimidated by me! Why are you?" I ask him still smiling. "Well I don't know josh talks so highly of you and all he wants to do is be with you and tash. I guess I'm just scared that he won't need me anymore." jake starts to get more serious. We both sit up and face each other. Our knees touch and I feel a jolt go threw my body. "Jake we will never replace you. I know we just met yesterday but it felt like we had already known each other because of how much josh tells me about you. I guess that's why I never thought to meet you before." I don't realize it at first but my hand lands on jake's knee and he places his hand on top of mine. "I mean josh has told us how you can never think about yourself and how you always do everything for everyone else. He told us that you are one of the most creative people he has ever known. He NEVER stops talking about how you're the greatest guitarist in mankind." I giggle when I emphasize the never part. "Really? I thoughts y'all didn't even know my name till yesterday." Jake says cheering up. I don't know what it is but I can't help but smile when I look at jake. I felt full of joy sitting on the grass looking at such a beautiful specimen of a human. I and jake get lost in each other's eyes until he looks down and sees he is holding my hand. "We better go back so people don't start worrying about us" Jake quickly pulls his hand away and stands up. The motion for my hand to help me up but I declined. "You can go but I want to soak up the sun still," I say as I flop down in the grass and lay there. My eyes are closed and I hear jake walking in the grass. I assume he is walking away until I feel hands wrap around my waist. My eyes shoot open and I see jake picking me up. He throws me over his shoulder and starts walking. "Jake put me down!!" I yell but can't stop myself from laughing "Nope" jake says "Jake I swear to god if you don't put me down!" I hit his back with my fist. I try to kick and hit him but he doesn't even budge. " Or what?" he asks with a grin. I immediately start to tickle him and he starts to slowly place me down. He puts me back down on my back and starts to tickle me even more. "Jake! stop! please!" I yell at him dying of laughter. " Fine only because you said please." He pulls his hands back and then offers his hand to help me up. I take it and we walk home both laughing at each other.
