After Chase, Caleb, Reid, Tyler, Pogue, Sarah, Kate, and I finished researching, we headed down to the living room.

"We need to relax after all of that researching," Sarah said.  She flashed me a look.  "All of us."

"Then we should head to Nicky's.  Chase and Jess included.  We could use a break."  I looked at Caleb.

"Really?"  Caleb nodded.

"Yeah, of course.  I mean...you and Chase have proven to be...more or less trustworthy for the moment, so...sure."

"Well...okay, then.  I'll head back to my dorm and change.  Then I'll meet you guys at Nicky's."  Everyone nodded at me.  I teleported back to my dorm at Harvard.  I changed quickly and got ready.

"Let's head to Nicky's."  I jumped and turned to see Chase sitting on the edge of my desk.

"Oh, my God!  Chase, geez!  Did you come in while I was getting dressed?"  Chase grinned and crossed his arms.

"No, I came in right after.  Come on."  He held out a hand, which I reluctantly took after a few seconds.  Suddenly, we were standing outside a dive bar.  "Shall we head inside to meet the others?"  I nodded as Chase pulled me a little closer.  I raised an eyebrow as we walked in.

"You are being surprisingly gentlemanly tonight."  Chase grinned.

"Maybe I'm thinking that being a gentleman will help you lose control faster and give in to this...chemistry between us."  I scoffed.

"Right.  Maybe you'll be the one who breaks."  Chase snorted.

"We'll see."  I spotted the others at a table near the tabletop games.  We headed over to the others and grabbed the two open seats.

"Hi, guys."  Sarah waved and smiled.

"Hey.  Are we all ready to have fun and party?" Chase grinned at me.

"I have a few ideas on how to kick it off."

He took my hand and pulled me onto the dance floor as a soft, almost romantic song came on.  Chase pulled me against him and wrapped his arms around me firmly.  I tilted my head up to whisper in his ear.

"I thought you weren't a romantic person."  He turned his head and almost pressed his lips to my ear.

"I'm not.  But I have a bet to win."  He pushed me out and spun me so my back faced his chest.  I chuckled and reached my hand up and back to hold the back of his neck.

"You can be very good at this, it seems."  Chase snorted.

"Good thing I'm not rusty, then."  I slid my hand down his chest and turned around to face him again.  I pulled him close and pressed up against him.  A slight shudder ran through him.

"You might be just a little rusty, Collins."

He chuckled and brushed my cheek with his lips.  Goosebumps rose across my skin as he gripped my hips and pulled me closer.  This is his big thing for getting me to lose control?

"If you're trying to convince me that you can't lose control, you're trying and failing."  Chase chuckled again.

"It's not the only thing I have planned."

"What—"

Before I could finish, Chase kissed me.  I made a startled sound and pulled him closer.  I kissed him back and wrapped my arms around his neck, holding him to me.  I felt the tension between us rise as he gripped my hips tightly.  He started to trail his lips down. I cut off a sigh that started to escape my lips.

"Not here, Chase.  This...it's too open."  Chase pulled his head back and cleared his throat.  He backed off.

"I...need to use the bathroom.  Excuse me."

He left me on the dance floor as I realized my heart was pounding.  The song we'd been dancing to was over and a loud, pumping song was on. I turned toward the group's table and went to sit down, taking deep breaths.  Everyone was looking at me.

"What?"

"We're...gonna go play foosball.  We'll be back in a little while."  The guys got up and went to the foosball table.  I looked at Kate and Sarah.  They were giving me curious looks.

"What?"  Kate snorted.

"You and Chase?  On the dance floor?  Whatever you guys are trying to do with that bet you have, there is definitely something a little more between you than just...a bet."  I rolled my eyes as my heartbeat slowed.

"Unh-huh.  There is just a physical attraction between us."  Sarah and Kate laughed.

"Trust me, the way you two were kissing each other was definitely a little more than 'just a physical attraction.'"  I rolled my eyes.

"Can we stop talking about my love life like it's the most exciting thing in the room?"

"So there is a little bit of love," Kate teased in a good-natured tone.  I sighed and rolled my eyes again.

"Excuse me for a few moments."  I stood up and headed for the bathrooms.  Right as I walked into the small hallway, I bumped into Chase.  He gave me a teasing grin.

"Where are you rushing off to, princess?"

"Um..."  I glanced at Kate and Sarah.  "I...just needed to step away for a few minutes."

Chase looked down at me.  His eyes were dark, but not from his Power.  I backed up against the wall and he caged me in with his arms.  I looked up at him and resisted the urge to pull him in for another kiss.  He leaned a little closer, so our bodies almost touched.

"Oh?  Why's that?"  I snorted.

"Why don't you bite me and find out?"  Chase chuckled.

"I could, but I'm pretty sure it'd be more fun if we started with a kiss."  I stared up at him, surprised.  Is he serious?  Just...a kiss from the charming man who seems like a playboy?

"Wow, another surprise. The charming playboy wants to take it one step at a time." Chase snickered and leaned a little closer.

"May I?" I nodded and he leaned a little closer to kiss me.

"Mm."

I gripped fistfuls of his shirt and pulled him closer. He trailed his lips down my neck and nibbled my skin. I let out a soft gasp and tilted my head back. I felt his chest vibrate as he chuckled.

"Not...mm...not...here...Chase...not...in the...open..." He pulled back and looked down at me.

"Then I know where we can hide out for a few minutes."

He wrapped his arms around me and lifted me into the air, carrying me into the empty unisex bathroom. I heard him lock the door and pulled his head back to mine. He let out a soft groan and pressed me against the wall. I tilted my head back as Chase trailed his lips down my skin.

"Ah...Chase..."

He pressed himself closer and nibbled my skin. I gripped his shoulders and wiggled my hips. Chase groaned and set me down on the sink. He slid his hands down my sides and pressed his fingers between my legs. I sighed, closing my eyes, and pulled him closer. Then the fog that clouded my mind while Chase kissed and caressed me faded. I pushed him back and shot him a look. He backed off.

"I'm not gonna break that easily, Chase." He snickered.

"I don't know...you seemed pretty close to breaking." I laughed softly.

"So did you. I heard the sounds you made." His face turned slightly red. I hopped down and unlocked the door. "Try just a little harder, Collins." I reached for the doorknob when I felt Chase's arms wrap around me. He pressed his chest against my back and slowly kissed my neck.

"Trust me," he murmured. "I will make you break, princess." I closed my eyes and pulled Chase closer.

"Not if I make you break first," I whispered.
