Long Time No See Old Friend! (Glamrock Freddy x Reader)

Ch. 9 Time to Open

"(y/n)?" Freddy uttered softly in surprise. For a few moments, no one said anything. The two of you just stared into each other's eyes and the world around you begin to fade away. It was silent. The silence wasn't awkward, it was...nice. The two of you felt like you were going to stay like this for an eternity. And who knows, it could have been if it weren't for a clanging noise that brought you two back to reality. The two of you snapped your heads to the source and found an empty can of FizzyFaz rolling on the ground. Behind the soda can was Chica and Roxy, trying their best to hide behind each other and failing. The moment they saw you and Freddy looking at them, they froze into poses as if they were playing twister.

"Uhhhhhhhh. Hey, Freddy...Hey, (y/n). What's uhhh...going on?" Chica followed up with a nervous laugh. You looked at Chica and Roxy, then you looked up at Freddy. After making eye contact with Freddy, both of you started to laugh. Chica joined in laughing. Even Roxanne was struggling to keep a straight face. Heavy footsteps flooded the room, then out came Monty.

"What the hell is going on in here?!" Monty exclaimed with genuine confusion.

"Sorry, Monty. You had to have been here hahaha!" Chica said in a joking manner. Everyone except Monty started laughing again. Monty then let out an irritated sigh and walked out of the room. Your FazWatch went off right then and you discovered a new task has been given to you. You were instructed to head to the main gate before 8 am. It was 7:55.

"Oh, shit! I'm supposed to be at the main gate before 8 am! I have less than 5 minutes to get there and I forgot where it is!" You panicked for the 48th time today.

"Don't worry, superst-I mean (y/n)! I promise I'll get you there in no time!" Freddy said reassuringly while giving you a thumbs up. He held out his hand to you, and with only a slight amount of hesitation, you took his hand and he dragged you off to the main gate. By the time you reached the main gate, you were extremely winded. On the other hand, Freddy was unaffected. Obviously, because he's made of metal. You checked the time and it was 7:59. You let out a breath of relief and leaned up against a wall. In the corner of your eye, you noticed someone walking toward you. They were wearing the same uniform as you, so you could conclude that they were, indeed, a fellow employee.

"Wow! I didn't think you'd make it in time." They let out a small laugh and you laughed along with them. "You must be (y/n). So tell me, how's your first day treating you so far?" They seemed pretty genuine, so you decided to tell them the truth.

"To be honest, it's been an absolute nightmare. If it weren't for Freddy I definitely would have been fired today." You gestured at Freddy who was standing nearby watching, and he gave you a friendly wave.

"I know what you mean. I almost got fired my first day because they expected me to know where everything was! Anyways, I'm going to unlock the front doors and people will start flooding in. Your task is to guard the main entrance and keep an eye out for any suspicious activity. We don't know exactly how long you'll be doing this, it depends on when the other workers are going to be done with their assignments, and then they'll switch with you. Wouldn't want you standing at the entrance all day staring at people. Talk about boring!" This task sounded easy enough to you. "Alright, I'm already super late to open the doors so I'm going to do it now."

"Good luck, superstar! I know you'll do a great job!" Freddy waved and then ran over to his room in Rockstar Row.

Guarding the entrance was pretty uneventful. Luckily, you only had to guard the entrance for 32 minutes. And then, you walked around the plex waiting for a new task to do. After 5 minutes of walking, You received a new task to help out at one of the restaurants. That was also pretty uneventful. after an hour and 30 minutes, you finished and begin walking again. It was 10:11 am and you received yet another task. Apparently, some kid threw up in one of the jungle gyms in the daycare, and you were assigned to clean it up. 'Great...' At least this would give you an opportunity to say hi to Sundrop! You quickly asked Freddy through your watch for directions to the daycare, and thankfully, he was available to give them to you. When you arrived to the daycare, you were immediately greeted with a ginormous area filled with all different colors!  It took all of your energy to prevent you from running around the place like a maniac. But you had a job to do. You turned over to a group of kids who were staring at you, clearly confused by your presence. Sundrop was with them, he turned to you and quickly ran over to give you a big hug. You quickly explained to him why you were summoned to the daycare and he led you over to the jungle gym in question. Then you got to cleaning. It was 10:47 and you were just heading out of the daycare. You obviously didn't leave without saying goodbye to Sundrop. He gave you a big hug and told you to come again soon! You never thought that you would hope for more children to throw up in the jungle gyms. It was 10:52 and you received another task. Apparently, Freddy's left arm was malfunctioning and he needed to be taken down to Parts and Services. To say that you were excited to see Freddy again was an understatement. You quickly messaged Freddy through your FazWatch with glee. He quickly arrived at your location with a spring in his step.

"(y/n)! It is so great to see you! How is your first day going so far?" Freddy asked with 50% more enthusiasm than usual.

"Pretty good! Most of my tasks were really straightforward. Although, I did have to clean up vomit at the daycare. Other than that, this job is pretty cool!" Without thinking, Freddy took your hand and led you over to Parts and Services. Your face began to heat up and you instinctively looked away. A bunch of people were staring at you. You saw some adults staring at you in confusion and/or disgust. You could also see jealous looks from a ton of little girls and some little boys. 'It must suck to watch others live out your dream lmao.' You started to see fewer and fewer people until you entered the staff-only areas which was surprising empty. Since the two of you were alone, you wanted to do something a little bold. You weren't really thinking much, you just wanted to get closer to him. You were holding his right hand with your left. You decided to start holding his upper arm instead, making yourself much closer to him. You couldn't believe what you had done. It just felt...so right.

"Al-alright, su-superst-star. We-we're al-almost th-there" Freddy studdered. Or more like, Freddy...glitched? 'Is there something wrong with his voice box? Or was he... nervous?' You took a mental note to check it out while you were in Parts and Services just in case. Still, you made no effort to move away, and neither did Freddy. Once you arrived at Parts and Services, you laid Freddy down on the table and asked him what the problem was with his arm. "My left arm has stopped working. It feels like it's stuck." Freddy tried to move his left arm and failed. You began working to figure out what the problem was so you could fix it. You noticed that Freddy looked like he wanted to say something.

"Is something wrong, Freddy?" You asked with concern. Freddy was silent for a moment, then he spoke up.

"Um, superstar? Why did it take you so long to tell me who you were?" Freddy's looked a little sad. "I-uh heard that Chica and Roxanne were already aware of this long before." You took a moment to choose your words carefully in your head.

"I'm sorry, Freddy. I guess I was just...nervous." You responded while toying with Freddy's left arm, trying to find the issue.

"I understand, superstar. But I just want you to know that I'm so proud of you! From when we first met, I could sense that you were special. And now, you've grown into such an amazing person! And I'm so lucky to have you here again." You felt a rush of deja vu. Freddy was always so good at making you feel special. You remembered feeling this way when you were little. A sound from your watch pulled you back to reality. You were given another task to complete, and you weren't even finished the one that you were currently doing.

"Oh! I have to get you finished quick! I have another task to do right after this. I'll deactivate you in a moment." Freddy nodded his head and laid back. Then you got to work.
