You and Freddy started to sprint towards Parts and Services in hopes of being able to finish your tasks on time. Once you arrived, you noticed how desaturated the area was. Considering the vast majority of the building is covered in neon lights in various colors, it kinda made you think that every part of the building was this way. Then again, why waste your money on things that guests aren't even going to see. Hooray for capitalism. In the middle of the area lay a closed-off cylindrical area.
"That area right there is the protective cylinder. That is where you'll be doing my maintenance check." Freddy points to the protective cylinder in question. The inside of it kinda looks like a dentist's office from hell. Or maybe a torture chamber of some sort? An alien lab where they put probes in humans they abducted? Definitely not something you expected to see here of all places. Being around all the buttons and wires and switches started to make you feel overwhelmed.
"This all looks way too complicated! What the hell am I supposed to do?!"
"Fear not, superstar. There are pre-recorded messages to guide you through the process! The whole process is actually way more simple than you'd expect. Especially since you're just doing a maintenance check. And I know that you'll do a great job!" Freddy's words calmed you down a bit, but you were still skeptical of this whole thing.
"You're putting a lot of trust in a stranger who's never worked on machinery in their life." You said in a half-joking manner.
"Well, superstar. I-I don't know how to explain this, but for some reason, I feel that I can trust you. Even if we barely know each other. It's like, something deep inside of me is telling me that I can trust you with my life." Freddy's words threw you off guard and now, your heart was racing for an entirely different reason. You really wanted to tell him that you've met before. But, now wasn't the time. You barely had any time to spare after all. Little did you or Freddy know that those words were not referring to when you first met Freddy. They came straight from that boy you were best friends with long ago, Michael Afton. It was like deep down, he knew exactly who you were. And, he felt the exact same way when you met Freddy for the first time.
Once Freddy was strapped into the table, he became deactivated, ready to be worked on. And thankfully enough, Freddy was right. For working on complex machinery, this was actually kind of easy. The instructions were pretty clear and the machinery in the cylinder did most of the work for you. It was kind of like playing a game in a way. In practically no time at all, you finished your maintenance check on Freddy and reactivated him. Once he was reactivated, he sat up and looked at you with a proud look on his face.
"Way to go, Superstar! I knew you could do it!" The way that Freddy praised you made your face heat up a bit and you instinctively turned away.
"You were right Freddy! This is way easier than I expected! Maybe I should start studying robotics haha" Freddy got up from the table and put a hand on your shoulder.
"Alright, superstar. I'll go and retrieve the next person on your list." He smiled from his eyes and then quickly ran outside of the room. You could always count on Freddy to elevate your mood no matter how terrible the situation was. As you sat there waiting for him to return, you kept thinking about that day around 6 years ago. Memories that you had forgotten have started to come back. You trying to convince Freddy to lift you up so you could cheat the basketball game in the arcade. The two of you playing tag with the other animatronics in the halls while getting jealous looks from little kids. The time you tried taking a picture of you and the other animatronics with the FazCamera you acquired but you left the flash on and you accidentally blinded everyone except Bonnie cause he had sunglasses. You trying to make Freddy and Bonnie laugh at Bonnie Bowl by flinging the bowling ball backward like in Wii Sports then accidentally knocking over a couple of Staff Bot and then running away like the criminal you are.
"Good times." You sighed happily. While reminiscing, you pulled out your Freddy plush from your bag and remembered all the times you carried it with you. It was like your most prized possession. You even to this day carry it around with you which, of course, caused people to accuse you of being childish. 'But who needs those losers anyway? I am an adult, and therefore, I have the right to do whatever I want! As long as I'm not hurting anyone of course.' Your thoughts were then interrupted by a pair of heavy footsteps hurtling towards you. Your head snapped to the source to see Freddy and Chica heading towards you.
"Here you go, superstar. I trust that you have everything under control." Freddy said while giving you a thumbs up. "Now, just in case you have any questions, feel free to contact me from your FazWatch." You stared at Freddy, puzzled, then you looked down at your watch. You immediately noticed a button that you swear wasn't there before. Curious, you pressed the button and immediately jumped at hearing Freddy's voice coming from the watch. "Feel free to contact me anytime from this watch, superstar!"
"Wow! How convenient." You look down at your watch in awe. "Thank you, Freddy! I think I have everything all set so you can go and get the next person ready."
"Alright, superstar. Good luck!" He said while giving you a friendly wave goodbye, and then running out of the room.
