THE BOY

There was this boy who felt so lonely
If only, if only
He knew about the old lady
Sitting at the window
Drinking her tea and watching him go

If only, if only
He knew about the girl in the shop
Packing the new comics on the lowest shelf
Because she knew he would stop

If only, if only
He knew about his teacher
Mr. Miller doesn't make him speak out loud
But everytime he reads his essays, he's so proud

If only, if only
He knew about the boy of the chess team
He so desperately wants to be friends with him
But he's to shy and fears to stumble within

If only, if only
He knew about his mother
But she had no power, she needed to recover
She had this problem, she was such a winelover

If only, if only
He knew about his dad
Since he can remember, they say he was dead
And there has never been somebody instead

If only, if only
He knew about the love the world felt for him
He wouldn't feel so lonely, he would fit in
But until he knows, he only knows about his selflove
Sometimes this is enough and he reminds himself of
