My POV

I sat with Steve on the bridge as he told me more stories about Bucky, and I had to smile, looking down at the water.

"You know... I think you guys still would have ended up with each other. I think that if there was any Bucky left in the Soldier, that's what made the Soldier like you." Steve's face twisted as he tried to disassociate Bucky with the Winter Soldier.

"He's probably going to be there. He might also not be the kind you save." We both looked behind us, seeing Sam walking up.

"We have to try, Sam, even if that means we have to stop him." I frowned, walking away with Steve, and Sam shouted at us.

"You gonna wear that!?" Steve smirked, looking behind Sam.

"No. You're gonna fight a war, you have to wear a uniform." Steve grinned as he took me to the Smithsonian, walking me through the Captain America exhibit as he grabbed his armor from the mannequin. Steve stopped at the James Barnes portion of it and I smiled softly, seeing a picture of the true James Barnes.

"I'm coming Sol- Bucky."

"Excuse us," I said as we pushed past the guy who unlocked the door for us. Steve went on over the building's system, giving his big speech. Sam and I grinned, fist-bumping each other.

"Powerful stuff." Sam said, and I snickered.

"I helped him write it out." Steve ended his speech before pressing the com again.

"And Pierce. I have a message for you from a friend of mine. Artemis says Hello." I wish I could see Pierce's face. As we figured, the battle started. Hill ran to help us from inside as Sam, Steve, and I ran outside to stop the Carriers.

"Hey Cap. How do you know the good guys from the bad?" Sam asked.

"Sam! If they're shooting at you, they're bad!" I mocked him. Each of us split, taking each one as I watched Sam fly in the sky getting fired at.

"I found those bad guys you were talking about!"

"You alright?" Steve's voice came over the intercom.

"Not dead yet!" Sam said as I jumped on and kept taking down fighters trying to get to the third one.

"Cap, Falcon, Artemis? How are you doing?" Hill's voice came on and each of us updated her. Steve had gotten his, Sam was working on getting on his because of getting fired at and I just got on mine as it launched into the sky.

"Guys, we have a problem." I said over the com, seeing Bucky enter the airfield down below.

"Sam I need a ride!" Steve said, jumping off his carrier and Sam caught him.

"Go!" I nodded, leaving the two boys to fight Bucky. Killing every Hydra member I saw, I ran to the location, seeing Bucky catching up with me, with Steve right behind him.

"Please don't do this." Steve pleaded to Bucky before it was clear we'd have to fight. I focused on sneaking over to the chip reader while Steve kept Bucky distracted, but a pair of hands grabbed me and the chip. I gasped, looking into Bucky's eyes and frowned knowing what I was going to have to do. I lifted my hand towards Bucky, my eyes and fingertips glowed purple for a moment.

"I'm sorry Soldat. I love you." I said, watching his eyes glow purple for a minute. Steve brought Bucky into a choke hold until Bucky let go of the chip and I. I ran towards the chip reader, gasping when I heard a gunshot. I turned around, seeing Steve falling to the ground, holding his side. "Cap!"

"Thirty seconds guys!" Hill's voice came over and I fumbled opening the chip reader back up, counting down the time, slipping it in just as I reached one. Gasping for breath as we made it, I crawled to Steve as he smiled weakly.
